What to do if there is occult blood in children's urine

Occult blood in urine is something that many people often encounter nowadays. Many people are exposed to this, but in fact many people do not know that some children also have occult blood in their urine. Its appearance actually reflects the physical condition of the child. The presence of occult blood in the urine is usually caused by kidney disease or nephritis. It may also be caused by symptoms such as high protein in the urine. Therefore, if occult blood is found in children's urine, the source of the occult blood should be investigated in time.

Positive urine occult blood does not mean the actual red blood cells seen under a microscope, but the red blood cell composition detected by a computer. Red blood cells in a normal human body are constantly destroyed and their components are excreted in the urine, so occult blood may also appear in the urine. It can only be confirmed when microscopic examination of the urine shows that the number of red blood cells is greater than 3/Hp.

Occult blood in urine is a common symptom of IGA nephropathy and nephritis, but occult blood in urine does not necessarily mean kidney disease or urinary tract infection, and relevant tests are needed for further diagnosis. First, we need to review the urine routine test to see if there is high urine protein. If friends with hypertension or diabetes have high urine protein, it is necessary to do a urine red blood cell deformability test to determine the source of hematuria. In clinical practice, the 3-cup test is also used to analyze where the hematuria comes from. The 3-cup test is that the patient divides his urine into 3 parts and places them in 3 test tubes. If hematuria is found in the first tube, it means that the bleeding site is in the urethra; if hematuria is found only in the last cup, it means that the bleeding site is from the bladder; if hematuria is found in all 3 cups, it means that the hematuria is from the kidneys. Blood clots in the urine often indicate bleeding in the bladder or urethra.

Experts remind that occult blood in children's urine is a problem that should not be underestimated. When parents discover this situation, they should immediately take their children to a regular kidney hospital for professional examinations, receive timely treatment, and take reasonable care measures to prevent the disease from worsening. People's kidneys are related to the integrity of their body's circulation and the elimination of some toxic substances, so they must be taken seriously.
