What should I do if my baby's leg is broken?

Babies' skin is very delicate and will appear very red and swollen if it is slightly scratched. And because the baby's physique is relatively weak, if the baby's leg is broken but not treated in time, the wound is likely to become infected or even inflamed. In severe cases, the baby may have a fever or cause other diseases. Therefore, if the baby's leg is broken, it should be treated in time. So, what should be done?

1 Just apply some sesame oil, but it is best to apply it when you just get hurt, which can reduce swelling quickly. As long as the muscles and bones are not injured, it is not a big deal. If the skin is scratched or the swelling is red, you can use a small amount of gentian violet to clean and reduce the swelling.

2 If it is a skin abrasion and bleeding without obvious cracks, it should not be serious. The main thing is to clean and disinfect first to avoid contamination. First, clean the local wound with normal saline, then disinfect it with iodine cotton balls and apply pressure to stop bleeding. After the bleeding stops, just use a Band-Aid to protect it, no need to apply medicine.

3 Disinfection methods can be used, but it is best to use saline to rinse off dirt and other particulate matter first, then disinfect with hydrogen peroxide, which can kill anaerobic bacteria, and then use iodine tincture and mercurochrome.

4Pot-iodine has little irritation to the skin and mucous membranes. However, if the area is large or deep, you should go to the hospital for treatment to avoid incomplete disinfection causing subscab infection. At the same time, the doctor will determine whether a tetanus shot is needed.

5. After treating or handling the baby, be sure to put a waterproof Band-Aid or a doctor's bandage on the wound. Be sure not to let the wound get infected or it will become inflamed, which will make the situation more serious. Normally, we don't need to scrub the wound, just wipe the area around the wound with a clean and soft towel.

6. It can be rinsed with hydrogen peroxide, then disinfected with iodine tincture, and finally bandaged with sterile gauze. Pay attention to rest, prevent infection, and avoid touching water.

7 You can use hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide), which has a good disinfection effect, is non-irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, and can be well tolerated. It will usually get better in two or three days, so there is no need to worry too much. Be careful to avoid trauma in the future. Pay attention to skin disinfection, try not to eat spicy or fishy foods, and take good care of your children.
