What should I do if my child’s neck hurts when twisting?

In daily life and work, certain bad habits can cause people to have neck pain. For example, people who need to face the computer for a long time may suffer from neck pain. Sometimes there will be some noises when the neck is twisted, and pain will occur at this time. The same is true for children. So what should children do when they have neck pain?

1. , First take a slow, deep breath, turn your head to the left and look at your left shoulder, then turn your head to the right and look at your right shoulder. Then stretch your chin back and forth to relax your neck muscles.

2. Raise your shoulders toward your ears, straighten your back, and then let your shoulders drop as much as possible.

3. Move both shoulders in a circular motion, first lift your shoulders and rotate forward, then rotate backward.

4. Sit down and place your hands flat on your thighs. Slowly lower your chin to your chest. Then turn your head from left to right and then from right to left. Take a deep breath and exhale loudly. Let your head and neck feel comfortable during the slow rotation. Don't worry if there is a crackling sound. It is just the sound of the tendons or ligaments rubbing against the bones when they are stretched.

5. Tilt your head toward your left shoulder, place your left hand over the top of your head on the right side of your head, and place the other hand on your right shoulder. Then very gently try to pull your head to the left, then tilt your head toward your right shoulder, and do the same movement. If you feel that the pressure from your hands is too great, you can simply tilt your head alternately to the left and right.

6. Pull your head down, cross your fingers and place them on top of your head, and move your chin back and forth in a semicircle toward your shoulders, but don't really push your head down.

7. At this point in the activity, you can gradually do some standing exercises. Stand up and contract your abdomen. Raise your arms and do an imaginary rope climbing exercise. Take turns to grab the rope with your arms as if you were really doing it.

8. Swing your arms back and forth in circles alternately, imagining a baseball player's pitching action, first in a right clockwise direction, and then in the opposite direction.

9. Return to a sitting position and place your right hand on the right side of your cheek. As your head turns to the left, use your hand to add some resistance to your face. Count to two and then repeat the movement to the left. When turning your head to each side, do so as much as possible.

10. The finishing action is to press your hands on the back of your neck, above the line where the hair meets the scalp, and then massage from top to bottom, or use the index and middle fingers of both hands to press on both sides of the back of your neck, and massage from top to bottom to the shoulders.
