How to treat cough variant asthma in children?

We have heard of biological mutations and cell mutations, but rarely of disease mutations. It is rare, but it does not mean that it does not exist. Common asthma in life will mutate, and the mutation will be accompanied by various complications. Cough variant asthma often has more than one complication, and its treatment is as difficult as asthma itself. The child’s main symptom is coughing, which lasts for one or two months and does not improve with medication. So what should parents do in this situation?

Cough variant asthma is characterized by:

1. Cough lasts for more than one month, often occurs at night and/or early morning, aggravated by exercise or cold air, with little sputum;

2. There are no clinical signs of infection, or long-term antibiotic treatment is ineffective, but bronchodilators are used as diagnostic treatment to relieve cough attacks;

3. If there is a personal or family history of allergies or asthma, a positive allergen test can be used as an auxiliary diagnosis;

4. Eliminate other causes of chronic cough.

Treatment method: Taking β2 receptor agonists to dilate the bronchi and inhibit their contraction and spasm; inhaled corticosteroids, anti-allergic drugs and improving the child's immune function can achieve ideal therapeutic effects.

Prevention: Avoid contact with allergens and be extra careful during the season when allergies occur frequently. Also avoid inhaling smoke, odors or irritating gases, which are all good preventive measures for preventing asthma attacks.

Experts point out that some children with asthma only experience paroxysmal chest tightness and shortness of breath without obvious wheezing after coming into contact with allergens or smelling certain gases or odors. This was previously called "chest tightness asthma" and requires vigilance.

Spring and winter are the main time periods for the disease. During this period, we must take protective measures to avoid inhaling harmful dust and causing respiratory damage. Of course, parents must also protect their children when taking them to the doctor or going out to play.
