Among them, tooth decay is caused by long-term improper diet. Once it develops seriously, it will always bring severe pain to the children. Sometimes it will always cause children to be unable to eat normally, especially when eating hot and cold foods. It will be particularly serious. Let's learn about the treatment methods for children's tooth decay.

How to treat tooth decay in children

The method of treating tooth cavities is called cavity filling, also known as filling. The purpose of caries treatment is to stop the development of caries, restore the appearance of the tooth, restore the function of the tooth, and protect the pulp tissue.

The principle of treating cavities is to remove the carious tissue thoroughly and cleanly, and to preserve as much tooth hard tissue as possible.

The methods for treating cavities are: according to the different conditions of caries, use carious tissue removal, drug therapy, remineralization, filling and repair methods. Filling is a common method used in clinical practice to repair caries defects.

1. Carious tissue removal method: It is suitable for teeth with a relatively wide carious area, for example, the entire occlusal surface is carious and the enamel or dentin layer is peeling off, making it difficult to make a filling cavity. Grind away sharp tooth tips, tooth edges and surface carious tissue to stop further tooth decay.

2. Drug therapy: Suitable for early stage caries where the caries are relatively shallow and no cavities have formed. The commonly used drug is silver nitrate. Use ammonia silver nitrate cotton ball to rub the carious lesions, repeat the rubbing for 1-2 minutes, blow dry with hot air, repeat once, and blow dry again to achieve the purpose of drug treatment of carious lesions. Since silver nitrate ammonia is an antiseptic and bactericidal drug, it has antiseptic, astringent and bactericidal effects. The carious tissue rubbed with it will turn black after being coated with clove oil or 10% formalin cotton balls, and protein silver and reduced silver will be formed, which will be deposited in the dentinal tubules, filling the dentinal tubules, killing the bacteria in the dentinal tubules, and stopping the development of caries.

3. Remineralization of carious tissue: This type of mineralization refers to the use of artificially prepared calcium, phosphorus, and fluoride mineralization solution to act on teeth to mineralize the tissue in the diseased area of the teeth. This process is called remineralization. The remineralization method of carious tissue is only applicable to early caries. The specific method is to gargle with artificially prepared mineral liquid. Clinically, this method is used to treat early-stage caries, which can reduce the chalkiness and stop its progression. Remineralization therapy is simple, effective, painless and safe.

4. Filling of carious tissue: It is the most commonly used method for treating carious tissue. It is suitable for making retention cavities in teeth after tooth decay. The filling cavity type is used to fix the filling material on the tooth, restore the tooth defect, restore its function, and maintain the tooth shape and the integrity of the dentition.

The above is an introduction to the treatment methods for children's tooth decay. After understanding it, we know that children with tooth decay must go to a regular dental hospital for treatment. In addition, we must also pay attention to maintaining good oral hygiene. Children should develop the habit of brushing their teeth and rinsing their mouths after meals, eat less sweets, and not let their teeth always chew hard food. When necessary, go to the hospital for examination and treatment.
