These two nights when I was sleeping, I suddenly found that my child was snoring. I just thought it was funny at the time, so I told it to my friends as a joke. But some of my friends who are mothers actually said that we should not underestimate children’s snoring, as it might be a disease. I was shocked at the time and had doubts in my mind: don’t adults snore too? Why don’t they say it is a disease? So is children’s snoring a disease? Why does my child snore?Childhood snoring is a common sleep disorder in children aged 1-10 years old. The characteristics of childhood snoring are different from those in adults. They are often manifested as snoring at night, night sweats, easy awakening, bedwetting, long-term nasal congestion, mouth breathing, upper airway obstruction and accompanied by hypoxemia. Childhood snoring has a serious impact on children's growth and development. It is a minor disease. Most adults and children snore due to congenital or acquired diseases, such as enlarged tonsils, micrognathia, enlarged adenoids, pharyngeal stenosis or obesity, which lead to obstructed respiratory tract and snoring. People have the ability to self-regulate when they are awake, and can breathe through their mouths when their airways are blocked. However, at night, when people fall asleep, their self-regulation ability decreases. When the airways are blocked, people are unconscious, which leads to hypoxia and a series of diseases. According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, snoring is caused by inflammation of the pharynx. Of course, there are other reasons, and pharyngitis is one of the main causes of snoring. The reason why snoring keeps recurring despite repeated treatment is that pharyngitis has not been cured. Pharyngitis can cause changes in the nasopharyngeal muscles, resulting in relaxation and hypertrophy of the nasopharyngeal and throat muscles, and blockage of the airflow in the nasopharynx. When the airflow passes through the narrow part of the nasopharynx, vortices are generated and vibrations are caused, resulting in snoring. In severe cases, inhalation and exhalation are completely blocked, leading to sudden death! It seems that children's snoring should not be underestimated. If not handled properly, it will lead to disaster. In the future, as parents, we must observe our children carefully. Now, people's living conditions have improved, and it is quite common for children and parents to rest in separate rooms. If parents do not observe carefully, they will not know that their children are snoring. From now on, we must always check on our children when they are sleeping. |
