What should be paid attention to during children's circumcision?

If a child has a foreskin that is too long, for the sake of the child's future health, it is best to go to the hospital to have the foreskin circumcised. The reason why many men have not been circumcised is that they are prone to male diseases such as balanitis. Nowadays, circumcision is just a minor operation with very little surgical trauma, but after all, the male penis is a very sensitive and important area, so after the child has undergone circumcision, you must pay attention to the following matters.

Precautions for circumcision of children:

1. After the operation, except for children who have received general anesthesia and need to be hospitalized for a short period of time for safety reasons, most patients can still carry out their daily work and do not need to be hospitalized. Adolescent and adult patients may experience swelling, pain and bleeding in the wound due to penile erection after surgery. If the bleeding is minor, local cold compress and pressure can stop the bleeding. If the bleeding is severe, the patient should return to the hospital for treatment immediately.

2. Cephalosporin antibiotics are routinely used to prevent infection, with significant results.

3. Patients can resume their sexual life one month after the operation.

4. During the circumcision surgery, the doctor will give the patient appropriate anesthesia according to the patient's condition. In order to avoid vomiting caused by the patient's inability to adapt to anesthetics, the patient should fast for four to six hours before the surgery;

After the operation, when the anesthetic effect wears off, there will be slight pain and bruising at the wound. You should take medication regularly. Usually, the symptoms will subside after three days, and the wound will heal after seven to ten days. Before the wound heals, you should follow up with your doctor on a regular basis.

In addition, the wound area should be kept clean and dry after surgery. Please be careful not to wet the gauze when urinating. If the gauze is soaked with urine, remove it first and then return to the outpatient clinic to change the dressing.

5. It is best to rest for 1-2 days after the operation. You can rest in bed, surf the Internet or read books. Walk as little as possible to prevent postoperative bleeding.

6. After the operation, try to avoid thinking about or touching pornographic or obscene magazines, online pictures and videos. Because contact with these things causes the penis to become erect, it is easy to cause postoperative bleeding.

Precautions during surgery

1. During circumcision, the broken ends of the blood vessels between the inner and outer plates often retract proximally and must be found and ligated, otherwise a large hematoma may form.

2. Do not cut the foreskin too much to avoid causing painful penile erections. Generally, the inner layer of the foreskin should be cut to about 0.5 cm away from the coronal sulcus. The laces should not be left too short.

Causes of edema

Edema may occur in the short term after circumcision surgery, which may be due to the following reasons:

1. The surgery cuts off part of the superficial veins, resulting in poor venous return. The dressing was too tight after the operation, resulting in poor local blood circulation.

2. There is a narrow ring in the foreskin itself, and the narrow area has not been completely cut open. After the operation, the narrow ring still exists, resulting in poor venous return.

Generally speaking, poor lymphatic return can lead to lymphadenopathy, and poor venous return can lead to foreskin edema.
