How to treat papular dermatitis in children?

How to treat papular dermatitis in children?

Many mothers have had this experience: when their babies were young, they always had red rashes or bumps on their bodies. The more they scratched, the more itchy it became. The babies also cried and made a fuss, which was very frustrating. What appears on the baby's body is called childhood papular dermatitis. Many babies will get this thing when they are young. So what should we do if the baby gets this thing? What treatment method is most effective?

First, let me talk about childhood papular dermatitis. Many people may not be familiar with this disease. The onset age of childhood papular dermatitis is usually 2 to 9 years old, and it is more common in summer and autumn. Children often have a history of playing with sand or contact with rough surfaces. The skin lesions are polygonal or round papules ranging in size from a needle tip to a millet grain, with flat or dome tops, normal skin color, grayish white or light red, and numerous in number; the center is dense but not fused, showing mild lichenification, with scattered papules around it; sometimes the surface of the papules is covered with fine bran-like scales. It often occurs on the back of the hands, wrists and forearms, and occasionally on the elbows, knees, backs of feet and trunk. There are generally no subjective symptoms, but mild itching may occur sometimes.

Secondly, let’s talk about the treatment of this disease. In fact, up to now, the real reason why children suffer from this disease has not been found out. It is generally believed that it is related to contact or friction stimulation from certain objects. I believe many mothers know that if this disease is not treated, it will disappear on its own when the child reaches a certain age, but it will take a while.

Finally, there is no particularly effective treatment to cure this disease. Doctors usually prescribe some topical ointments that can relieve itching to relieve the symptoms. In daily life, pay attention to children's skin hygiene, bathe them every day, and pay attention to their diet. Do not eat spicy and irritating foods, drink plenty of water, and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.

So if your baby also has a similar situation, don't worry too much. Just do a good job of daily care, don't let the child always scratch the affected area, pay attention to hygiene, and eat a light diet. When the child reaches a certain age, this symptom will disappear naturally. If the child's itching symptoms are severe, you can use some topical ointment to relieve the symptoms.
