How to treat red and swollen foreskin in children?

Phimosis is a common disease among men. If not treated in time, it can easily cause some kidney damage in men. Children may also have this condition. If the child is not treated when he is young, it will affect his normal sexual life in the future. The following editor will introduce the early symptoms of foreskin angioedema in detail. I hope that after listening to the editor's introduction, you will find such symptoms and treat them in time.

Causes

This disease is generally considered to be an allergic reaction. Because its pathogenesis is the same as urticaria, it is also called giant urticaria. Due to the allergic reaction, the small blood vessels in the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue are affected, resulting in vasodilation and increased exudate. The exudate enters the loose tissue from the blood vessels to form localized edema. This allergen may be caused by eating certain irritating foods or medicines, or by contact with certain chemical fiber products.

【Self-diagnosis points】

1. Main symptoms

(1) Sudden severe edema of the foreskin, which is clear and not red.

(2) No subjective symptoms, or a feeling of numbness, swelling, or heaviness, usually without itching.

(3) It will disappear naturally in 2-3 days and leave no trace.

2. Associated symptoms

(1) Edema is often present in other parts of the body, such as the lips, eyelids, and face.

(2) May be accompanied by systemic urticaria.

(3) Some people with severe edema may have limited urination and a thin urine stream.

(4) Some patients may experience systemic discomfort, such as nausea, dizziness, etc.

3. Inspection and testing

The peripheral blood white blood cell count and eosinophil count may be elevated.

4. Differential diagnosis

(1) Insect bites: Children, in particular, are often exposed to insect bites because their external genitalia are often exposed to the outside. The foreskin is also highly edematous, red and itchy.

(2) Lymphatic vessel obstruction: Due to the obstruction of lymphatic vessels in the lower cavity, severe edema of the penis and scrotum often occurs.

Through the above introduction by the editor, if parents find that their children have the above conditions mentioned by the editor while caring for their babies, it is best to take the children to the hospital for surgery during this period. Also, they should pay attention to the children’s personal hygiene in normal times and let the children wash their glans frequently to prevent the children from developing balanitis.
