What is the reason why baby's stool is egg-drop-shaped and bloody?

Children will always have some digestive problems when they are infants, which are usually reflected in the baby's stool. Many babies will have abnormal stool when they are young. Some will have egg-drop shape stool, and sometimes even have blood. What is the reason for this? Many mothers are eager to understand what this symptom is. Let me tell you!

The stool contains undigested milk curds, which makes the baby's stool loose. When the stool is loose, it will appear egg drop-shaped and have a yogurt taste. This is because the baby's digestive system is not yet fully developed and the digestive function has not reached the normal level. If you are not careful, "indigested stool" will occur. If there is bright red blood in the stool, it may be caused by rectal polyps, colon polyps and anal fissures, and further examination should be done. If in addition to blood, there is also a large amount of mucus and less feces, combined with the child's symptoms of paroxysmal abdominal pain, intussusception may be considered. If the stool contains pus, blood and has a fishy smell, it may be dysentery.

Causes of egg-drop-shaped stool:

1. Breastfeeding: The stools of breastfed babies are generally unformed. As long as the baby does not have the above-mentioned accompanying symptoms, the mother does not need to worry too much. This is physiological diarrhea and will not affect the baby's health.

2. Baby's gastrointestinal infection: It may be that the mother's nipples are not clean when breastfeeding, or the baby's bottle and nipple are not disinfected thoroughly enough when eating milk powder.

3. The baby's abdomen catches a cold: The baby's abdomen catches a cold, which will cause a lot of foam in the baby's stool. If this happens, the mother must pay attention to keeping the baby's abdomen warm.

4. The baby has infections in other parts of the body: Sepsis caused by skin infections such as the umbilical cord, respiratory tract infections, etc. may cause the baby's stool to be unformed.

By reading the above text, you may have understood the reasons for your baby's abnormal bowel movements. When children are infants and young children, their organs are not fully developed, so it is normal to have some problems occasionally. As long as you take the child for a check-up in time, there is generally nothing to worry about. But if it has already affected the child, it should be given enough attention.
