Nursing after circumcision of children

Phimosis is a disease that is currently more serious in men. To reduce the harm of this disease, it is best to perform circumcision on the child when he is young, so that the effect can be better. The following content introduces in detail the care after circumcision of the child. Those who want to choose this operation can learn about the care as soon as possible.

Pediatric circumcision is suitable for children with local inflammation caused by phimosis and excessive foreskin, which recurs repeatedly, and who also have difficulty urinating or even urinary difficulties. Phimosis and prepuce are common diseases in pediatric urology. Phimosis is caused by fibrous adhesion between the foreskin and the glans penis of children. When children are born, the foreskin completely covers the glans penis and the foreskin opening is tight. As children grow older and the penis develops and erects, the fibers in the foreskin are gradually absorbed and separated, the foreskin opening gradually loosens, the foreskin can gradually be turned up, and the glans penis is gradually exposed. Some children have a small foreskin opening, and the foreskin bulges like a bag when urinating, resulting in difficulty in urination. At the same time, phimosis often occurs, with local redness, swelling and pain. Those with the above conditions must undergo circumcision to be completely cured.

Currently, there are two common methods of circumcision. One method is to cut with a knife or electric knife, then suture with absorbable sutures and cover with vaseline gauze. After the operation, you may often see yellow tissue exudate on the glans. This is because the foreskin is adhered to the glans. After separation, the tissue exudates and forms a scab, which will fall off in 7-10 days. As long as it does not affect urination, do not tear it off. Apply ointment (also commonly used burn ointment: MEBO) on the Vaseline gauze 5-6 days after the operation. There will be less bleeding when the Vaseline gauze is removed the next day, which can also relieve pain. If there are scabs, you can use 1:5000 PP powder for external washing or sitz bath. The advantage of this method is that the postoperative time is short, and the disadvantage is that there may be obvious edema after the operation, which affects the appearance.

The other method is called circumcision, currently known as the Korean method in the United States. It is to tie the excess foreskin on the circumcision device with a thread ring, cut off part of the excess foreskin, and the circumcision device will fall off naturally in 10-15 days. After the operation, the circumcision device is required to be coated with complex iodine three to four times a day. One week after the operation, it is required to wash with 1:5000 PP powder for 15 minutes, twice a day until the circumcision device falls off. The purpose is to promote the falling off of the circumcision device. After the operation, edema may occur due to foreign body reaction, which will disappear quickly after the circumcision device falls off. The advantage of this method is that the postoperative appearance is beautiful and there is no need to remove stitches or gauze. The disadvantages are that the postoperative recovery time is relatively long, and adolescent children and adults experience significant pain due to erections.

More and more children are undergoing circumcision due to phimosis or excessive foreskin. Due to the physiological characteristics of the foreskin of children, the subcutaneous tissue is loose, the skin is thin and elastic, and the venous return is poor after surgery, which can easily lead to edema. In addition, children are lively and active, and crying in pain can easily cause bleeding, edema, and cracking of the wound. Therefore, parents should pay more attention to postoperative care to ensure that their children safely go through the postoperative recovery period.

The above is a detailed introduction to the care after pediatric circumcision. I believe that many people have already fully understood the care after pediatric circumcision through the above. After understanding, in order to ensure a higher success rate of the operation, choose a regular hospital, and after the operation, take good care, so that your foreskin can be improved as soon as possible through surgery.
