The child complained of knee pain

Knee pain can occur at all ages, especially when children complain of knee pain. Parents should pay attention to whether the child has suffered trauma or has arthritis. But excluding these reasons, another cause of children's knee pain is growing pains, that is, pain caused by children growing too fast or too early in the process of development. At this time, they need to supplement more calcium, vitamins and other nutrients.

1. Avascular necrosis of the femoral head

When suffering from this disease, patients will experience unexplained difficulty squatting, unsteady walking, and knee pain, but there is no obvious tenderness. There is tenderness in the center of the affected hip, and internal and external rotation of the hip may induce pain, or partial limitation of movement. In the late stage, the pain is reduced or there are no symptoms, the affected limb muscles atrophy or lower limb shortening, and the hip joint movement is slightly limited or normal.

2. Osteochondritis of the tibial tubercle

Regarding the question of why children have knee pain, experts point out that in the absence of obvious trauma, if children experience knee pain, it may be caused by tibial tubercle osteochondritis. Tibial tubercle osteochondritis is common in children aged 8 to 15 years old, more common in boys than in girls, and most of the time it is unilateral. After exercise, pain and local swelling occur at the tibial tuberosity, and there may be tenderness or percussion pain. Pain may occur when squatting or going up and down stairs. The pain will ease or disappear after a few days of rest.

3. Reasons for growth

Children's knee pain may also be growing pains. The pain can be caused by rapid growth, premature labor leading to physical fatigue, weather changes, or a lack of trace elements. Characteristics of pain: The pain mostly occurs above and below the knee joint, and is sore or tingling, mostly in the evening or before going to bed. The pain lasts for a few minutes and rarely exceeds an hour. The pain has no obvious fixed location and is accompanied by redness, swelling and heat. The pain will disappear quickly if hot compress or light massage is applied.
