Lethargy after roseola infantum

Lethargy after roseola infantum

We all know that young children's physical resistance is relatively fragile, and their main resistance comes from their mother's milk, so we should pay attention to the quality of milk. When a child is in emergency, we should pay attention to skin hygiene, and have the child go to the hospital for examination and understand its complications. This symptom of emergency in a child will not cause drowsiness, and there will be no changes in body temperature and mental state.

Will infantile rash cause drowsiness after the rash appears?

Roseola infantum, also known as infantile roseola and fever rash, is an acute rash infectious disease common in infants and young children caused by infection with human herpes virus type 6. When the disease occurs, irregular red spots appear on the back, neck and other parts of the body. Mild cold symptoms or persistent high temperature appear within 3-5 days, and a rash appears within 12-24 hours after the fever subsides. For most babies, the symptoms disappear within 1-3 days. The baby will not feel itchy, and it will heal in about a week unless in special circumstances, so there is no need to worry too much.

During the rash period of roseola infantum, there will be no significant changes in the child's body temperature and mental state, and there will be no obvious drowsiness. There will only be a sudden high fever in the early stage, which usually lasts about 4 days. After the fever subsides, a rose-colored maculopapular rash will appear all over the body. If high fever and rash occur at the same time, rubella or measles should be considered. Usually no special treatment is needed, and the problem will be solved once the fever and rash subside. Physical cooling or appropriate use of a small amount of antipyretic drugs can be used to avoid convulsions. When a young mother encounters this situation, don't rush to reduce the fever of your child! Remember! For high fever, irritability or easy startle, you can use antipyretic sedatives; if the high fever persists, you need to supplement more fluids, drink more boiled water, vegetable soup, fruit juice, etc.

Precautions for infantile rash

1. Don’t worry too much about high fever.

Roseola infantum is common in infants and young children, and it is often the first fever in the baby's life, and it is a high fever. What worries parents the most when roseola infantum occurs is the persistent high fever. Even if antipyretics are taken, the body temperature will rise again in a short time. But parents should note that although the baby has a high fever, his mental state is not too bad and it basically does not affect his play and eating. This is different from other diseases. After contracting roseola infantum, children can gain long-lasting immunity and rarely get the disease a second time.

2. Breastfeeding mothers need to increase the amount of fluid they drink.

If the baby is still breastfeeding, the mother needs to increase the amount of fluid supplementation. When children are sick, they are more dependent on their mother's breastfeeding. Try to feed more milk to improve the baby's immunity. Mothers should be careful not to eat eggs, fish, shrimps, garlic, leeks and other foods in their diet, and try not to eat raw, cold or spicy foods.

3. Strengthen children's ability to resist virus attacks.

Roseola infantum is a mild infectious disease, so in winter and spring, parents can give their children a bag of Isatis root powder every day to enhance their ability to resist viral invasion and prevent diseases.
