What to do if your baby has inverted nipples

What to do if your baby has inverted nipples

Every mother has to be careful when taking care of her child, so that the child can grow up healthy and happy. As the child's body grows day by day, many children have some phenomena, especially the phenomenon of inverted nipples in babies, which is very common. So what should we do in life?

The main reason for inverted nipples in babies is poor development of the nipples themselves, or poor development of the fibrous muscle tissue under the nipple skin, which causes the nipples that should protrude outward to be squeezed into the breast tissue, forming a depression.

The main hazards of inverted nipples are: first, the accumulated secretions are difficult to discharge or clean, which can easily cause bacteria to multiply and cause infection, leading to mammary duct inflammation, pain and bad odor. Second, it will bring difficulties to breastfeeding children after marriage. The child cannot suck milk because he cannot hold the nipple, which affects his growth and development. Milk stasis may also occur, causing breast swelling, heat, and severe pain. Because the nipples cannot stand upright, they are not easy to rupture during breastfeeding and cause mastitis. Third, sunken nipples will inevitably affect women's bodybuilding to varying degrees.

So, what should we do if our baby has inverted nipples?

Generally speaking, when you find that your nipples are slightly inverted, you should pay attention to keeping the area clean, wash it frequently with warm water and neutral soap, and massage the nipples and areola every day, especially lifting the nipples from time to time to make them protrude. It is best to apply some liquid or cooking oil locally during operation.

If the baby's nipples are slightly inverted and the neck is long, they can be fixed with gauze. Generally, they will return to normal after 2-3 months. If the baby has deeply inverted nipples and short nipple necks, in addition to bandaging with gauze, the inverted nipples must also be pulled with adhesive tape and then fixed to the breasts.

From the above article, we learned about the phenomenon of inverted nipples in babies. First of all, this phenomenon will change with the child's physical development. If a child has this phenomenon, parents should pay more attention.
