The harm of malnutrition to babies is so terrible!

Parents in today's society attach great importance to their children's nutrition, but even so, babies often suffer from malnutrition, which can cause great harm to the baby's physical and mental development. For example, the following hazards may be something that everyone has not thought of.

1. Baby's nutrition is unbalanced and his mood is unstable

Six-year-old Taotao has been behaving a little abnormally recently: he loses his temper for no apparent reason, becomes irritable, and breaks things on purpose. Sometimes he looks worried and frightened, and he often grinds his teeth at night. The kindergarten teachers also reported that Taotao often hit other children for trivial matters, and sometimes bit them with his mouth. This has really troubled the grandparents. Why is their grandson so upset for no reason? At first, I didn’t think there was any problem and thought Taotao just had some troubles. However, more than three months have passed, and Taotao still often loses his temper, has a poor appetite, and has not gained much weight. Now his grandparents panicked and rushed him to the hospital. After careful questioning and examination, and after ruling out other diseases, the doctor said that Taotao's emotional instability and irritability might be related to vitamin B deficiency and eating too much sweets.

2. Vitamin B deficiency and excessive sweets can cause children to become irritable

Vitamin B1 is an important coenzyme component for the production of energy from sugar in the body. If there is a deficiency of vitamin B1, sugar cannot be converted into energy in time, which may cause a continuous increase in insulin secretion and excessive secretion of adrenergic hormones, leading to irritability, anger and emotional instability. Children who eat too much sweets have a bad temper. One of the reasons is that sweets increase the body's need for vitamin B1, causing vitamin B1 deficiency, resulting in poor appetite, indigestion, indifference, depression, irritability and other symptoms. If vitamin B1 is severely deficient, it can also cause neuritis and affect the heart. Vitamin B1 is found in high concentrations in roughly processed rice, flour, grains and beans, animal offal, lean meat and nuts. Due to modern people's pursuit of taste, food processing is becoming more and more refined, and the intake of beans and soy products is low, vitamin B1 insufficiency and deficiency often occur. The way to prevent and treat vitamin B1 deficiency is to combine coarse and fine grains, eat legumes often, and eat some animal offal and nuts appropriately.

3. Zinc deficiency Zinc is an essential trace element for children's growth and development. Zinc deficiency is widespread among children, especially in rural areas, and in some areas the rate is as high as over 60%. Children who are zinc deficient are hyperactive, have difficulty concentrating, are easily distracted, have trouble memorizing things, and do not understand the content of lectures. Therefore, some people call zinc the "element of wisdom." There are many other symptoms of zinc deficiency, such as dry and sparse hair, poor physical condition, sweating after the slightest exercise, and night sweats. In severe cases, people may have pica, which means they like to bite their nails, clothes, eat paper scraps, etc. Zinc is abundant in animal foods and is easily absorbed. Shellfish, meat, and animal offal are excellent sources of zinc. Cheese, shrimp, oatmeal, and peanut butter are also good sources of zinc.
