What is the reason for newborns to have fat particles?

Fat particles are a very common phenomenon in normal times. They can occur at any age. Fat particles not only affect a person's image, but also cause great psychological pressure on people. Therefore, they must be taken seriously. When many babies have fat particles, parents are very worried and don't know what to do. So what is the reason for newborns to have fat particles?

Why do babies grow fat particles?

1. The child may suffer from keratosis pilaris, an autosomal dominant skin disease with abnormal keratin metabolism, which is related to vitamin A deficiency. Apart from affecting appearance, this disease generally does not affect health.

2. The disease is typically manifested by multiple pinpoint-sized papules of normal skin color. Sometimes there are small keratin plugs on the top of the papules. The keratin plugs are composed of hair follicle epithelial cells and sebaceous substances. The rash is mainly distributed on the upper arms, outer thighs and buttocks. The outer side of the upper arms is the most common place, especially in children. Skin lesions are usually more obvious in winter and improve in summer.

3. There is currently no cure for this disease. It is recommended to go to the hospital's dermatology department for diagnosis and targeted treatment. Usually, you should avoid squeezing the keratinized areas to avoid causing hair follicle infection. Mild keratosis pilaris does not require treatment, just consume more foods rich in vitamin A, such as carrots, green vegetables, etc. Patients with moderate to severe conditions can use external exfoliating ointments as prescribed by their doctor, such as retinoic acid, salicylic acid, and urea, but these can only relieve symptoms.

How to take care of fat particles on baby's face?

1. Keep your skin clean and dry

When bathing your baby, it is advisable to use warm water and non-alkaline bath products to clean the baby's body. For babies with intertrigo, special attention should be paid to cleaning the folds of the skin. When taking a bath, the shower gel must be rinsed off. After washing, wipe the moisture off the baby's body and apply a non-oily moisturizer to avoid hindering the normal breathing of the skin. The baby's hair should also be washed every day. If the baby has seborrheic dermatitis, washing the head carefully can remove the scabs. If the scab has hardened and stuck to the head, apply olive oil on the affected area and then wash it after a while.

2. Avoid external stimulation

Parents should always pay attention to changes in temperature and humidity around their baby. Babies with contact dermatitis should especially avoid exposing their skin to cold wind or strong sunlight. In summer, after your baby sweats during exercise, you should wipe off his sweat carefully; when the weather is cold and dry, you should apply anti-allergic non-oily moisturizer to your baby. In addition to paying attention to weather changes, parents should not let their babies wear clothes that are easy to irritate the skin, such as wool, silk, nylon, etc.

3. Shorten your nails

If your baby suffers from severely itchy atopic dermatitis or contact dermatitis, parents should regularly trim their baby's nails to reduce the chance of scratching.

4. Avoid certain foods

Except for atopic dermatitis, there is no need to abstain from food for other eczema. Let your baby eat less animal protein, such as milk and eggs, only under the supervision of a doctor or nutritionist. It is best not to ban certain foods without clear evidence. It is not recommended to prevent babies from getting proper nutrition in order to avoid allergies. Instead, you should pay attention to improving your baby's immunity. You can try giving your baby some colostrum, such as Life Sunshine Colostrum. In addition to being rich in high-quality protein, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, it is also rich in active immunoglobulins, which can inhibit the reproduction of bacteria.
