Generally speaking, if the baby is born full-term, healthy, has a normal body temperature, and the room temperature is relatively suitable, the baby can usually be bathed 2 hours after birth. However, there is another situation where the baby can be bathed 2 hours after vaccination. Newborns need to be vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine and BCG vaccine after birth, and they cannot be bathed immediately after these two vaccines.

Baby bath precautions

1. Make clever arrangements based on temperature changes and specific circumstances.

In winter, bathe your baby every other day, usually at noon when the temperature is higher. In summer, you sweat a lot, so you can wash once a day. In spring and autumn, when the temperature is more suitable, you can wash your hair once a day.

2. The movements should be quick and gentle.

When parents are bathing their children, they should be quick but gentle. The bath towel should be soft, and sterilized gauze can also be used to avoid damaging the skin. Each bath should not exceed 10 minutes.

3. It is best to use baby soap.

Soap should be baby soap that is more oily but less alkaline and less irritating. You don't have to use soap every time you take a shower, especially in the summer when you sweat a lot, you can just rinse off the sweat with water.

4. Prevent your baby from catching cold.

When bathing your baby, you must always pay attention to the water temperature to prevent the baby from catching a cold due to the water temperature being too low. At the same time, be careful to prevent water and soap bubbles from entering your baby's ears, nose, and eyes during bathing.

5. Arrange bathing time.

The best time to take a bath is between feedings, as this will be when the baby is most interested. If your baby is still a newborn, it will be easier to bathe him during the day.
