How to deal with fever in baby's hands and feet

When children are young, their body's resistance and self-repair abilities are relatively weak, so they are more easily infected by external viruses, so they often have conditions such as fever. Then, parents should pay more attention and know some specific coping measures to prevent their children's condition from getting worse and causing them to suffer. So let me tell you how to deal with your baby’s fever when his hands and feet are hot?

The normal body temperature of a baby is between 36.5 degrees and 37.5 degrees. If you think your baby has a fever, the first thing you should do is to take his temperature!

Babies are prone to crying when they have a fever. Using a thermometer with a pacifier is the easiest way to measure a baby's temperature and it is also the most comfortable way for the baby. Place the pacifier in your baby's mouth for about 3 minutes to allow the thermometer to warm. Press the switch button to turn on the thermometer and keep the pacifier in the baby's mouth until a prompt sound is heard. The baby's body temperature will be displayed on the screen.

If your baby has just had a hot or cold drink, the pacifier thermometer may not be accurate. At this time, you can use a digital thermometer to measure the temperature. If the baby's temperature is high, the mother should first make an objective assessment, such as whether the baby has just taken a hot bath? Or is it because the weather is too hot and you are wearing too many clothes? If the indoor ventilation is poor, the mother can first take off the baby's outer clothes and open the doors and windows to maintain ventilation.

Generally speaking, if the baby's body temperature does not exceed 38.5 degrees, we do not recommend taking antipyretics. You can feed the baby more water to increase the baby's urine volume and promote the excretion of toxins in the baby's body. At the same time, wiping the whole body with a warm water towel is also a good way to cool down, which is suitable for all babies with fever. Each wiping time should be more than 10 minutes. The key areas to wipe are the skin wrinkles, such as the neck, armpits, elbows, groin, etc.

How to deal with baby’s fever and hot hands and feet? From the perspective of a professional doctor, there should always be some medicines for treating fever and colds at home. Because children's fever usually has no signs, parents already know how to deal with it specifically, so they can first give the child some medicine to stabilize the condition, and then send the child to the hospital in time.
