Treatment of muscular dystrophy in children

Treatment of muscular dystrophy in children

It is the common wish of many parents that their children can grow up healthily and happily. Muscular atrophy has always been a relatively serious disease in our lives. It causes great harm to our bodies. Once it happens to children, it will have a certain impact on their growth and physical and mental health. This is often the most painful thing for many parents. So what is the treatment of muscular atrophy in children? Let us learn about it together.

Causes of muscular atrophy in children

1. Dermatomyositis is often accompanied by other connective tissue diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatism, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's syndrome, etc., which are common causes of muscle atrophy in children.

2. The lymphocytes of polymyositis have cytotoxic effects on embryonic muscle culture. Injecting heterologous muscle homogenate and immune adjuvants into guinea pigs can cause experimental myositis with pathological changes similar to dermatomyositis, which eventually becomes the cause of muscle atrophy in children.

3. The causes of muscle atrophy in children also include anti-myosin antibodies, immune complement, and anti-nuclear factor in the serum, and deposits of IgG, IgM, and complement on the muscle blood vessel walls, all of which indicate that immune complexes cause vascular damage.

Treatment of muscular dystrophy in children

Therefore, the treatment of this disease should be addressed based on the overall disorders and needs of the children, so that they can receive comprehensive rehabilitation treatment. That is, the children should receive rehabilitation care and treatment not only physically but also mentally and socially, so that they can live, study and work like healthy people. Comprehensive rehabilitation generally includes medical rehabilitation, educational rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and social rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation training is best carried out under the guidance of a doctor. Generally speaking, the following points should be noted:

(1) Master the appropriate training scale, quantity and method. If the training volume is not enough, there will be no obvious effect; excessive training can cause limb damage, such as muscle strain, joint swelling, fracture and dislocation, etc. So we must grasp this scale.

The amount of training should be appropriate.

(2) Training should be done step by step and should not be rushed. The number of activities increases from little to many, the range of joint movement increases from small to large, and the force used increases from light to heavy. Only by gradually increasing the amount of training can good results be achieved.

(3) No training should cause obvious pain. Sometimes training may cause slight pain, but the pain should disappear after you stop the activity. If severe pain occurs during training and does not go away after resting, it is often a sign of injury and you should stop training.

If you experience severe pain after training or even swelling in your lower limbs, it indicates excessive exercise and you should temporarily stop training.

(4) You should not feel tired during training. If you feel tired, you should rest for 5 to 10 minutes before training again to avoid injury caused by overexertion.

The above is an introduction to the treatment methods of muscular dystrophy in children. After understanding it, we know that in addition to taking our children to the hospital for treatment in time, we must also maintain good living habits, let our children exercise more, and pay attention to nutritional balance in their diet. This can have a good alleviating effect on muscular dystrophy. In addition, when the child feels unwell, take the child to the hospital for examination in time.
