How to eat egg yolk for six months baby

Newborn babies only need to drink milk, but when the baby is six months old, milk alone can no longer meet the needs of its physical growth and development. At this time, parents need to add complementary foods to the baby in time. Among all kinds of complementary foods, egg yolk should be considered the earliest one to be added. This is because egg yolk is easily digested and absorbed by the baby, and the lecithin in egg yolk is also an essential substance for the development of the baby's nervous system. So, how should a six-month-old baby eat egg yolk?

1. How to eat egg yolk for a six-month-old baby

Egg yolk is the best choice because it is easy to digest. Although the biological iron content is very low, it is easily absorbed by the baby, especially in the presence of vitamin C, the absorption can be increased three times. Egg yolk is also rich in lecithin, which is an essential nutrient for the development of the nervous system. Generally, take a quarter of the cooked egg yolk with the egg white removed, mix it with orange juice or other fruits rich in vitamin C, and choose the flavor your child likes. Use a small spoon to put the prepared pureed food in the middle of the child's tongue. Through the child's chewing and stirring with the tongue, practice swallowing. This set of movements will gradually become proficient and coordinated.

2. Nutritional value of egg yolk

1. Protein

Most people think that the protein in eggs is concentrated in the egg white. In fact, the protein content of a whole egg is about 12%. The content in the egg white is slightly lower, at about 11%, and higher in the egg yolk, at about 15%.

2. Lipids

There is very little fat in egg white, and 98% of the fat is found in the egg yolk. The fat content of egg white is only 0.2%, while the egg yolk is about 30% fat, almost all of which exists in a well-emulsified form combined with protein, so the digestion and absorption rate is high. Moreover, the fat in egg yolk is mainly monounsaturated fatty acids, more than half of which is oleic acid, the main component of olive oil, which is beneficial for preventing heart disease.

3. Minerals

Eggs are rich in minerals, which are mainly concentrated in the yolk. The yolk contains 1.0% to 1.5% minerals, including more phosphorus, calcium and iron. It also contains magnesium, potassium, selenium, zinc, etc. Eggs have a high iron content, but it exists in the form of non-heme iron. In addition, eggs contain a phospholipid protein that can firmly adsorb elemental iron and prevent it from dissociating in the intestines. As a result, the absorption and utilization rate of iron in eggs is far lower than that in animal liver and lean meat, with a utilization rate of only about 3%.

3. How to eat egg yolk for babies

1. Egg yolk porridge: 2 teaspoons of rice, 120 ml of water, 1/4 egg yolk. Wash the rice and soak it in appropriate amount of water for 1 to 2 hours, then cook it over low heat for 40 to 50 minutes. Put the egg yolk in a container, grind it and add it to the porridge pot and cook for about 10 minutes.

2. Egg yolk paste: Put the eggs in cold water, boil them on low heat for two minutes, then turn off the heat and soak them for 5 minutes. This way the egg yolks will solidify but not become old, and it will also be easy for the baby to digest and absorb.

3: Egg yolk soup: Put the cooked egg yolks into a bowl and crush them, making sure to crush them completely without leaving any small lumps. Then add the cooked broth and mix well.
