What bed is good for newborns?

When welcoming a new life, many families will prepare a warm nest for the new life and buy a crib for the baby to sleep in, because the crib is particularly safe for the baby, and compared with the bed we adults sleep in, the crib is more comfortable and more suitable for children. So what kind of bed is good for newborns?

It is better for babies to sleep on a firmer bed.

During this period, all the baby's organs are still in the process of growth and development, especially the bones grow faster. The baby's bones contain less inorganic salts and more organic matter, so they are soft, elastic and not easy to fracture. However, because the muscles and ligaments around the baby's spine are very weak, the spine and limb bones are prone to deformation and bending. If you sleep on a soft bed for a long time, it is more likely to cause kyphosis and scoliosis deformities. In addition, because the bed is too soft, it is not conducive for the baby to roll. When the baby's mouth and nose are blocked by bedding, it is difficult for the baby to struggle. Moreover, a bed that is too soft is not conducive to the child practicing turning over, sitting up, standing, crawling and walking. Therefore, it is better to let the baby sleep on a hard bed, but it cannot be too hard. The most appropriate hardness is to let the baby's buttocks not sink too much when the baby lies on his back.

There is scientific basis for giving your baby a hard bed to sleep on. Babies abroad do not sleep on soft beds, it may be because the bedding is soft and warm, giving people the impression of a soft bed. If you let your child sleep on a very soft bed, such as a spring bed, an extremely soft Simmons mattress, a hammock, etc., it will definitely affect the baby's skeletal spinal development. Especially babies sleep for a long time.

A suitable bed is an important condition to ensure a good sleep for children. Currently, there are many types of beds on the market, including spring beds, cushioned beds, wire beds, rattan beds, etc. When parents choose, they should consider the child's physical hygiene. Children are in the period of growth, so they must not sleep on a bed that is too soft, because if they sleep on a bed that is too soft, it will be difficult for the spine to maintain its natural physiological curvature and scoliosis will occur, affecting the normal development of the spine; when sleeping on a soft bed, the muscles have to remain tense and contracted, and they will feel sore all over after waking up; children generally sleep for a long time, and excessive muscle fatigue will reduce the quality of their sleep, which will have an adverse effect on their physical development in the long run.

In families where conditions permit, it is best to prepare a small bed with a fence for the child. The bed surface should be made of wood and slightly hard, with a flat mat on it and then a mattress on it. Sleeping on such a bed is comfortable and safe for the child and is good for his physical development. If you cannot prepare a separate bed for your child, make the area on the large bed where the child sleeps a little harder. Never let your child sleep on a bed that is too soft.

After a child is born, his organs develop and grow rapidly, but his spine is very soft and the surrounding muscles and ligaments are very weak. If children are allowed to sleep on a spring bed or sponge mattress, it can easily lead to deformation and bending of the spine and limb bones. If the bed is very soft, the heavy weight of the child's arms will press the bed into a depression. Regardless of whether the child is lying on his back or on his side, the spine will be in an abnormal curvature, which will eventually cause a subsidence in the chest or a hunchback deformity.
