Why does dry stool occur in children?

Why does dry stool occur in children?

Because I have a little brother at home, my stool is sometimes dry. This is not normal. Many mothers don’t know what causes it. It is uncomfortable for the child and the adults too. Today I will tell you the reason without going to the hospital for examination.

1. Some children often feel pain when defecating due to dry stools, and their anus may be scratched, resulting in them not wanting to defecate and deliberately holding it in. This can cause stubborn constipation in the long run.

2. Children are more playful, often drink less water, and have slower intestinal motility, which causes feces to stay in the body for too long, causing the reabsorption of toxins in the stool.

3. Dry stool can cause difficulty in defecation, and children will reject stool, causing depression, eating disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, etc.

4. The stool is dry and hard, causing the anus to be scratched during defecation, resulting in a small amount of blood on the surface of the stool.

5. There are also many cases of anorectal diseases such as anal fissures and even hemorrhoids in children.

6. It causes malnutrition in children, with dry stools and relatively fewer bowel movements. Children often have poor complexion, sallow complexion, and are thin.

Of course, dry stools can lead to many diseases, such as constipation, anal fissures, hemorrhoids, etc. Therefore, patients with long-term dry stools should promptly find out the cause and prevent it in life. At the same time, timely examination and treatment are required when symptoms occur.

Therefore, children should drink more water in normal times. I also keep this habit every day and also pay more attention to hygiene. I hope these can help everyone.
