Causes of ADHD in Children

Causes of ADHD in Children

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common disease among children. ADHD often makes children unable to stop, and they love to act mischievously, unable to concentrate in class, and do not check problems carefully when doing homework. This makes parents and teachers feel very distressed, and makes many parents worry that their children are always like this and whether it will be a big obstacle to their future. Therefore, many families will quarrel because of such problems, and attribute such symptoms to each other. In fact, there are many reasons for children's ADHD. Let's take a look.

Causes of ADHD in children:

1. Genetic factors

Most ADHD patients have inherited the disease. For example, the blood brothers and fathers of the children have more hyperactivity or inattention. The incidence rate of monozygotic twins is as high as 51% to 64%. There are also many relatives with alcoholism, antisocial personality and hysteria.

2. Other factors

Other factors that may cause ADHD in babies include nutritional problems, vitamin deficiencies, food allergies, food flavorings or added artificial colors, etc., which may make children more susceptible to ADHD.

3. Biochemical and metabolic factors

Biochemical and metabolic factors are the key factors that lead to ADHD in babies. A large number of studies have confirmed that the central monoamine receptors (a neurotransmitter that transmits information to the brain and is a chemical substance closely related to mental activity) of children with ADHD are updated more slowly; some studies have also found that metabolic disorders caused by vitamin deficiency or certain food additives or pigments are related to children's hyperactive behavior.

4. Severe lead poisoning

The investigation found that severe lead poisoning can cause fatal toxic encephalopathy, dementia and other nervous system damage, and metal poisoning can lead to ADHD. Lead poisoning is a more popular theory, but not all children in the same situation are hyperactive, so this factor needs further study.

The points listed above are common causes of ADHD in children. In addition to these points, there are actually many other factors. Genetic factors are difficult to avoid, but acquired factors must be paid more attention to and prevented. When your child becomes a patient with ADHD, you must take it seriously and keep a normal mind, not putting too much pressure on the child. Try to feed the child less high-sugar, high-calorie foods, and supplement more vitamins, which will be very helpful in alleviating the condition.
