How to treat children with ADHD?

ADHD is a common childhood disease, and patients will have symptoms such as inattention and hyperactivity. It not only has a great impact on children's lives, but sometimes also brings a great psychological burden to parents. Many families go bankrupt trying to treat their children with ADHD. However, the treatment of ADHD cannot be solved in a short period of time. Today, I will introduce to you several treatment methods.

Many psychologists believe that medication alone cannot completely eradicate children’s problems and that appropriate treatment is necessary. Therapy can help children solve problems such as poor friend making and lack of self-confidence, and can also strengthen their organizational skills. Because ADHD often affects the entire family, it is best for the child with ADHD to cooperate with his parents or other family members in treatment.

Psychotherapy is an important aspect of treatment. The consultation between parents and teachers enables them to understand the characteristics of children's growth and development and the characteristics of psychological development at different age stages. Discipline should be timely, fair, patient and confident. Children should not be placed under harsh demands, and practical plans should be put forward for children of different age groups to provide specific counseling and help.

In addition, psychiatric treatment is also indispensable. A child's personality is composed of two parts: innate temperament and acquired environmental influence, so it has both stability and plasticity. If parents and teachers discover children's talents and guide them correctly, children will be able to grow up smoothly and healthily, form correct behavioral patterns and normal or even excellent learning abilities. Therefore, the above factors such as "children's learning, behavior, ability, personality, and parents' educational views" are actually complete components of successful education and cannot be divided or exist independently.

Of course, some medication should be taken when necessary. But parents cannot put all their hopes on medication, as there is currently no drug that can completely cure ADHD. Compared to medication, parental companionship is actually more important. Parents should be tolerant of their children instead of scolding them blindly, so as to help their children recover better.
