What to do if your baby has scrotal effusion

What to do if your baby has scrotal effusion

There are many common problems for babies. The choice of methods is critical in improving the baby's problems. It is common for babies to have scrotal effusion. When the baby has such a situation, parents should not be too anxious. They should first understand the baby's physical condition, so that they will know what method to choose during treatment. There is a good way to solve the baby's scrotal effusion. So what should I do if the baby has scrotal effusion?

What to do if your baby has scrotal effusion:

Hydrocele can be divided into three types: one is that there is localized fluid accumulation only in the spermatic cord, which is called spermatic hydrocele. There is an oblong mass in the spermatic cord with a smooth surface and high tension. It may be translucent when illuminated by a flashlight. The mass is limited to the part above the testicle. One is that a large amount of fluid accumulates only in the testicular sac, which is called testicular hydrocele. There is a smooth mass in the scrotum, which is similar to hydrocele in nature, and the testicles cannot usually be felt. One is because the processus vaginalis of the peritoneum is completely open, and there is a translucent tumor in the spermatic cord or testicle, but the tumor may disappear when the child lies flat; after standing up again, the tumor in the scrotum slowly reappears, which is called communicating hydrocele.

The first two types of hydrocele tend to heal on their own, and many children can heal without treatment within 1-2 years after birth. Communicating hydrocele often requires surgical treatment.

The treatment of hydrocele does not need to be as active as that of inguinal oblique hernia, especially for non-communicating hydrocele in children under 2-3 years old, which often has the possibility of spontaneous healing and does not require urgent treatment. For non-communicating hydrocele with smaller tumors, Chinese medicine can be tried, and the effect is good for some children. Traditional Chinese medicine can be used for treatment, such as litchi kernel, fennel, gourd seed, cardamom, costus root, and orange kernel. If the tumor caused by non-communicating hydrocele is large and has high tension, or if the patient suffers from communicating hydrocele, surgery may be considered.

When it comes to what to do if the baby has scrotal fluid effusion, parents can follow the above methods. However, it should be noted that after the baby has scrotal fluid effusion, parents must make reasonable choices in the child's diet, and some complex foods should not be given to the child, otherwise it will not help the treatment of the baby's scrotal fluid effusion.
