Treatment of yellow discharge in baby eczema

Treatment of yellow discharge in baby eczema

Babies are the apple of their parents' eyes. If they see that they are uncomfortable, they will feel sad. As the saying goes, the pain of the child is the pain of the mother. Children's resistance is inherently weaker than that of adults, and their skin is delicate and tender. It is easy to get sick or have skin problems. Eczema is a very troublesome thing. Some serious cases will cause yellow discharge. The fair and tender skin is tortured and is full of pits and bumps. Children like to scratch it, which is really heartbreaking. What should we do?

Symptoms of eczema:

1. Infants under one year old often have eczema limited to the head and face:

A. Seborrheic eczema: Inflammatory erythema on the top of the head, forehead, eyebrows, etc., covered with thick yellow greasy crusts.

B. Exudative eczema: It is common in obese babies, with redness, swelling, erosion and exudation on the cheeks as the main symptoms, often accompanied by severe itching.

C. Dry eczema is more common in thinner babies, and is mainly characterized by patches of small papules and scales, with relatively mild pain and itching.

2. Special types:

A. Coin-shaped eczema (discal eczema): often occurs on the back of the hands, buttocks and sides of the limbs. The diameter is 1-3CM, round, with clear boundaries, densely packed small papules and papulovesicles, exudate on the surface, chronic skin hypertrophy, scales, scabs, scattered skin lesions on the surface, and obvious itching.

B. Infectious eczematous skin lesions: There are local purulent infection foci before the onset of the disease. Such as otitis media, ulcers, fistulas, etc. The disease occurs because the continuous discharge of secretions irritates the surrounding skin. The surrounding skin becomes red, and many small papules, blisters and pustules appear, which then ooze and form scabs, and may spread in a linear manner without the direction of itching.

The onset of infant eczema is related to poor gastrointestinal digestion ability. As infants grow older, gastrointestinal function becomes more and more perfect, and diet becomes more diversified, most infant eczema will not recur after one year old.

treat:

1. Oral medication: Promin, Ben Hai

2. Topical medications:

A. For patients with severe exudation, erosion, redness, swelling, and skin lesions, use 3% boric acid water for cold wet compresses, 20 minutes each time, 4-6 times a day.

B. If the skin lesions are thick and lichenified, eczema ointment can be used

3. Notes:

A. Try to feed with breast milk, or cook fresh milk for a while longer to denature the protein in the milk and reduce its antigenicity to reduce allergic reactions. You can also use soy milk or other milk substitutes. The eggs should be cooked for a longer time and only the yolk should be eaten, not the egg white. This is because the antigenicity of the egg comes from the egg white, and the yolk rarely causes allergies.

B. Underwear should be loose and made of pure cotton. Try not to wear wool or chemical fiber products.

C. Scratching, rubbing, washing with soap, scalding with hot water and improper use of external medications will aggravate eczema and should be avoided. The vicious cycle of itching—scratch—more itching—scratch more leads to worsening of the condition.

D. You should eat less fish, shrimp and protein foods to avoid worsening of the condition.

When eczema is severe, topical medications can be used, but excessive use will cause pigmentation. Severe eczema can be treated with oral administration of hydrocortisone, but hydrocortisone is very expensive. You can also use soy protein milk powder alternately with the milk powder you are currently using.

I hope every child can grow up healthy and happy, so that parents won’t worry and the baby won’t feel uncomfortable. Adults should pay special attention to their children's physical condition and deal with any abnormalities in a timely manner. Give your baby a healthy body and a happy childhood.
