How to treat squint in children

Nowadays, many children like to play computers and watch TV, which leads to decreased eyesight. The age at which children need to wear glasses due to myopia is tending to be moved earlier and earlier. Some children develop strabismus when they are young due to their parents' lack of attention and understanding. Therefore, the rate of children wearing glasses is very high nowadays. How to treat strabismus in children?

Children have short eyeballs and suffer from physiological hyperopia. After the age of 2, children's need to see close objects gradually increases, and children's eyes have strong accommodation ability and their extraocular muscles have good contraction force. If they have the habit of looking at things too close since childhood, their eyes will often maintain a high degree of accommodation, and this will inevitably be accompanied by excessive inward turning of the eyeballs, which is most likely to cause esotropia. In addition, congenital factors, birth injuries, and incomplete development of visual function can also cause it. How to treat strabismus in children? The treatment methods are: 1. Wearing glasses and surgical correction. If a child with esotropia also has moderate to high hyperopia, and wearing fully corrected hyperopia glasses can completely correct the esotropia, then such esotropia must be treated by wearing glasses; if the refractive examination shows no degree and wearing glasses cannot improve the strabismus, then it must be corrected through surgery. 2. Cover training method. Use the healthy eye patching method to eliminate the ocular movement inhibition of the paralyzed eye or strabismus eye. Depending on the situation, the alternating patching method can also be used to achieve the same purpose. The tactile radiation training method uses fusion images to conduct fusional radiation training for radiation dysfunction after esotropia surgery, intermittent exotropia, exotropia, etc. Notes: 1. Avoid eye fatigue and take adequate rest. 2. Avoid spicy food for one month after the operation. 3. Ice packs can be used for 48 hours after surgery to relieve pain and bleeding. Antibiotics are taken orally or intramuscularly on the day after surgery, and the dressing is changed on the second day after outpatient surgery. After the dressing change, antibiotic eye drops and eye ointment are applied locally. The sutures were removed 7 days after surgery, and topical medication was continued until 3-4 weeks after surgery. 4. Try to reduce eye movements and avoid rubbing your eyes within 2 weeks after surgery. 5. Wash your face, hair and take a bath after surgery to avoid water getting into your eyes and prevent postoperative infection. 6. After the operation, you may experience discomfort such as eye soreness, difficulty in eye movement, and foreign body sensation in the eye. Some people may feel varying degrees of eye pain or difficulty falling asleep. The above phenomena are normal reactions after surgery. The severity and duration vary from person to person. Generally, they can be relieved in 2-5 days, so there is no need to worry too much. 7. If you experience double vision or severe eye pain or other special circumstances, please inform your doctor immediately and follow the doctor's instructions for training. ?

Strabismus not only affects a person's appearance, but also causes psychological pressure on children when they are older, and it is also easy to cause visual impairment. How to treat strabismus in children? In fact, strabismus in children can mostly be avoided. The key is to prevent it early. Try not to let children look at objects at close range and in the same direction. Let children change their sleeping direction to enhance the convergence ability of the eyes.
