Tonsils are an organ that is very helpful for us to prevent external bacteria, especially for children. We do not recommend tonsillectomy for children. We all know that enlarged tonsils can cause us to snore when we sleep at night. For middle-aged people, it is okay for you to undergo tonsillectomy, but you must pay attention to the dangers after tonsillectomy. Tonsils, also known as tonsils, are located in the human mouth, one on each side, in the gap between the oropharynx and the pharynx. They are the largest lymphoid tissue in the pharynx and are an important immune organ for children. After being stimulated by external inflammation, the tonsils participate in cellular immunity and humoral immunity. The immunoglobulins produced have strong immunity and can deal with various pathogenic microorganisms that invade the body, playing an anti-disease role. They are called the "health guardian" of the human body. When the body's resistance is reduced, pathogens (mainly bacteria) will invade the tonsils and cause tonsillitis. The children suffer from symptoms such as sore throat, headache, fever, fatigue, and sore limbs. If tonsillitis recurs frequently, it will become chronic tonsillitis, which is prone to secondary systemic infections such as myocarditis, nephritis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc., and the tonsils will become the "culprit" of systemic diseases. It is generally believed that tonsils in children under 6 years old have important physiological functions, and arbitrary removal will reduce the body's immunity, so surgery is generally not performed. When frequent tonsillitis affects breathing and pronunciation, or when children's physical development is significantly affected by frequent tonsillitis; or when tonsillitis is not frequent but each attack is closely related to rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease and nephritis, or when tumors or stones grow on the tonsils, surgical removal should be considered. Children's tonsil surgery currently uses the squeezing and cutting method. This operation is very simple, can be done in an outpatient clinic, can be completed in a few minutes, and does not cause much pain to the child. However, during the inflammatory period, surgery is not recommended to avoid the spread of inflammation and intraoperative and postoperative bleeding. Surgery is contraindicated for patients with blood diseases and diseases that affect coagulation function. The above is an introduction to the dangers of tonsillectomy. I hope middle-aged people can understand it, especially male friends. Generally, obese male friends tend to snore when they sleep at night, so when you go to the hospital for a check-up, the doctor will recommend that you undergo a tonsillectomy, but tonsillectomy may cause harm. |
