What are the rehabilitation treatments for cerebral palsy?

Cerebral palsy has always been a problem for patients and their families, and has a great impact on the development of children. Therefore, as parents, you should help your children with some rehabilitation treatments. For example, you can let your children learn more vocal exercises and do some muscle stretching exercises appropriately. This will be of great help in your treatment of cerebral palsy.

The child lies prone, and the points of the Du meridian from Zhiyang to Mingmen are pressed and tapped in sequence along the spine; the points of the Urinary Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang, one and a half inches away from the spine, are pressed and rubbed. Stimulate the lumbar plexus and promote local blood circulation. The child sits upright with his back to the practitioner, and the practitioner presses, rubs, massages, and taps the Fengchi, Yamen, Tianzhu, Naohou, and other occipital brain areas, as well as the Baihui, Luoque, Houding, and Qiangjian points. Stimulate the motor area of the brain and promote local functional compensation. The child lies on his back and presses, rubs, pinches and holds his limbs.

Lower limbs: After pressing the Yanglingquan point, hold and knead the lateral leg muscles in sequence; or after pressing the Weizhong point, hold and knead the posterior muscles until the Achilles tendon; or after pressing the Huantiao point, hold and knead the adductor muscles.

Upper limbs: On the basis of pressing the Zhongfu point, hold and knead the front muscles of the upper arm; or on the basis of pressing the Jianjing point, hold and knead the back muscles of the upper arm; or on the basis of pressing the Quchi point, hold and knead the front and back muscles of the forearm. Adjust the movement state of local limbs and promote the recovery of normal function of the affected limb.

Head: (1) The child lies in supine position. The operator presses the Baihui stimulation area with the right palm and the lower abdomen below the navel with the left palm. Gradually use force with your right palm, so that the force goes from the cervical vertebrae through the spine to the lumbar sacrum. The patient's head and body should be kept in a straight line, and the operator should feel a sense of support from an object. (2) Continuing from the previous posture, the practitioner presses and rubs the Baihui acupoint with one finger, and then presses or scatters the Baihui stimulation area to improve head control ability and promote brain development function. (3) Continuing from the previous position, the practitioner holds up the child’s head with one hand and bends the five fingers of the other hand. Using the strength of the fingertips, the practitioner applies the trap-grasping method from the forehead through the Baihui area to the occipital region and both sides of the forehead. This is repeated several times. This method is like combing your hair, which is beneficial for opening up the orifices, refreshing the mind and regulating the meridians. (4) Lie prone with your hands flat on both sides of your head. The operator rubs the Fengchi point, and then presses, rubs and holds the neck stimulation line.

Trunk: (1) Lie prone with your hands raised to the sides of your head and your feet stretched out naturally. The operator uses the base of the palm to press rhythmically along the stimulation line of the Du meridian from the back to the waist. Each time you press, move one part, about 1 to 2 vertebrae, from the top to the sacrum. This method can regulate the central nervous system and facilitate the correction of spinal deformities. (2) Continuing from the previous posture, the practitioner uses both thumbs to massage the two kidney points simultaneously. This can replenish vital energy, replenish essence and produce marrow. It can also strengthen the waist muscles and lower limbs. (3) Lying on the side with the patient facing away from the operator. The operator holds the patient's shoulder with one hand and the ilium with the other hand, and pushes and pulls with both hands, using the board method to gradually apply opposite forces to rotate the waist to the maximum extent. Use gentle force and gradually increase the rotation of the waist to effectively stretch the muscles of the trunk and promote turning over and body balance. (4) Continue with the previous position, release the hands on the child's shoulders, and push the hands on the iliac area forward to make the child lie prone. Then, gently pat the child's waist and back from top to bottom several times.

You may wish to stick to the cerebral palsy rehabilitation treatment methods on a daily basis to see if there is any improvement for patients with cerebral palsy. In your life, you can choose the recovery method according to the cause of your child's illness, and you should encourage your child more, so that your child can get rid of the disease faster.
