The baby's umbilical cord fell off and he was bleeding. What's going on?

In life, many men and women are first-time parents, so they may have some concerns or questions about their baby's condition. Soon after the baby is born, the umbilical cord will fall off completely, so you must pay attention to the care of your child to avoid infection. Some children also experience bleeding after their umbilical cord falls off, which makes many people very worried. So what happens if the baby's umbilical cord falls off and bleeds?

1. The time when the umbilical cord falls off will vary depending on the baby's situation. It usually falls off 1 to 2 weeks after birth. If the baby's umbilical cord falls off and is bleeding, it means that the umbilical cord did not fall off naturally. If there is no suppuration and just some bleeding, you can use iodine to eliminate it. If there is suppuration, wash it with hydrogen peroxide.

2. The navel may be inflamed, which can be treated with iodine disinfectant. Try to keep your belly button dry and breathable to prevent the diaper from contaminating your belly button. You can also use a belly button sticker.

3. You can wipe it with 2% iodine first, and then with 75% alcohol. Wipe from the center to the outside, and do not wipe back and forth. Use an alcohol swab to wipe all the iodine clean, otherwise it will burn the skin. Wipe it twice a day. Also, don't get it wet. You can try it. If it doesn't work, you can go to the hospital for treatment. The baby's umbilical cord is very important.

4. As long as the umbilical cord is not inflamed or has fluid bleeding, it is sufficient to disinfect it with 75% alcohol 1-2 times a day before it falls off. Keep the umbilical cord clean and dry, and avoid contamination from urine and feces. The umbilical cord should be kept dry before it falls off, and no full-body bathing should be performed. The base of the umbilical cord can be wiped with a 75% alcohol cotton swab every day. After the umbilical cord falls off, there may still be secretions in the umbilical cord, which still needs to be disinfected with alcohol. If there is scab, remove it and clean the bottom thoroughly. Do not apply powder or other products to the navel casually to avoid infection. If you find any symptoms of infection, you should seek medical attention promptly.
