Researchers at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in the United States conducted a four-year follow-up survey on 325 preschool children aged 3.8 to 7.8 years, recording their food types and calories, calcium intake, height, weight, activity level and TV watching time in daily life. The results showed that eating more dark green and dark yellow vegetables can best help children reduce body fat and increase bone density. The researchers analyzed that it may be that the high content of alkaline minerals (such as potassium ions) in these vegetables can help bone development. Researchers do not recommend eating too much refined meat, mainly because it contains too much sodium and fat. Although it can increase bone density, it also increases fat. Researchers recommend giving children more of the following foods that promote bone growth: broccoli, spinach, carrots, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, as well as whole-wheat bread, poultry (non-fried), peanuts, and seeds. |
