What to do if a baby girl has vulva itching

What to do if a baby girl has vulva itching

Generally speaking, various abnormal conditions in the vagina will occur after women suffer from gynecological diseases, such as vaginal itching or abnormal leucorrhea. For some baby girls, gynecological diseases are basically rare because they do not have sexual life. But there are exceptions. So for baby girls, what should they do if they have symptoms of itching on the vulva?

1.1. Pay attention to the cleaning of the vulva. Sebum, sweat, menstruation, vaginal secretions, urine stains, feces stains and other substances can easily cause bacterial infection and reproduction. If not cleaned in time, it will irritate the vulva and cause itching and other conditions.

1.2. Avoid scratching, washing with hot water, and other stimulations to prevent secondary infection and aggravate local symptoms.

1.3. Wear loose and breathable pants and skirts more often, and avoid wearing tight crotch pants and pantyhose. Avoid spicy food, eat more vegetables, and keep bowel movements smooth.

2. Symptoms of vulvar itching

Vulvar itching and pain is a manifestation of vulvitis. The symptoms of vulvitis include vulvar skin itching, burning sensation and pain, which worsens during activities, sexual intercourse and after urination. It manifests as pain and itching on the labia majora and minora, clitoris, perineum, and around the anus. The pain and itching are more severe at night, during menstruation, and after eating irritating foods.

3. Causes of vulvar itching

The main causes include Trichomonas, fungal infection, wearing underwear made of chemical fiber fabrics, using rubber or plastic menstrual belts, obesity, tight underwear, frequent use of alkaline soaps or neglect of vulva hygiene. Vulvar leukoplakia, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, burns, diabetes, anemia, etc. can also cause it.

1. Topical medication

Because vulvar itching is an external disease, the use of external medications is necessary. In case of infection, potassium permanganate solution can be used for sitting bath, but local scrubbing is strictly prohibited; in case of acute inflammation, 1% resolsin plus 1 foil of livanol solution or 30% boric acid solution can be used for wet compresses and then 40% zinc oxide ointment can be applied locally after washing; chronic itching can be treated with corticosteroid ointment or 2% diphenhydramine ointment.

For vulvar pain and itching that cannot be diagnosed for the time being, local wet compresses of 3% boric acid or 1%~2% raclonidine solution, 40% zinc oxide oil, calamine lotion and 2% diphenhydramine ointment can be used. If necessary, oral chlorpheniramine can be taken, but hormones, iodine, alcohol, etc. should not be used.

2. Oral medication

When symptoms are severe, you can take chlorpheniramine, diphenhydramine, or isopropylamine orally to achieve both sedation and desensitization effects.

For vulvar pain and itching caused by trichomoniasis, take metronidazole orally under the guidance of a doctor, and insert dichlorvos tablets or metronidazole tablets into the vagina at the same time. The effect will be better if combined with vaginal douching. Married persons must examine their male spouse and receive treatment at the same time.

Avoid mental stress and don't cover yourself too thickly when sleeping, which can reduce the pain and itching. Eliminate human causes, pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva, wear cotton underwear that is not too tight, avoid using alkaline soaps, and minimize mechanical stimulation to the vulva.
