How to develop good behavior habits

How to develop good behavior habits

Behavioral habits can affect a person's life and can change his destiny. Good behavioral habits will not only be respected, but also have a good influence on others. We often say that parents are their children’s first teachers. This is because parents’ behavior directly affects their children’s words and deeds. It can be seen how great an influence parents have on their children, but it is difficult for us to be all-encompassing in life. Children are born with a strong ability to imitate. No matter whether they see good behavior or bad behavior, they will imitate it if they think it is fun. Once some bad behavioral habits are learned, it will have a great impact on the child's future.

Many parents put a lot of thought into their children's future, which is worthy of recognition. However, parents still need to pay more attention to educating their children, because some of their behaviors not only do not help their children, but may also have a very bad influence on their children. I would like to give you some advice here, and I hope you can use scientific methods to discipline your children.

1. Teach by example and learn good habits

Knowledge, emotion, will and action are the four important levels of moral education, and "knowledge" is the most basic. Any moral phenomenon can only be internalized into emotions and thoughts and externalized into behaviors and habits when students have a correct understanding of it. Confucius, a great thinker and educator, once said: "Habits formed in youth are as natural as instinct." This fully illustrates that a behavior formed in a natural state without thinking, putting in any effort, or even controlling it with will is a habit. The so-called habit can also be understood as an automatic behavior of adults, and bad habits are also an automatic behavior.

2. Create opportunities to develop good habits

Habits are automatic and stable behaviors that people develop through long-term practice and repeated implementation. Habits are not "spoken" but "practiced". Ushinsky said: "We should think carefully about this behavior and express it in simple, clear and as concise rules as possible, and then require students to implement these rules unswervingly." This requires teachers to create opportunities and build platforms for students so that they can "practice" good habits.

3. Practice what you preach - a subtle influence on children

The family is the first classroom for children's education and parents are their first teachers. However, the influence of parents and family blood ties makes family education more friendly and authoritative, but also has the characteristics of being pre-emptive and basic; family education is synchronized with the growth of children, which makes family education continuous and stable; in addition, family education mainly relies on teaching by words and deeds, and situational influence, which is more contagious and subtle, and plays an important role in children's education. In this regard, I use parent-teacher meetings to make parents understand that the behavioral habits a person develops from childhood will have a long-term effect and even affect their entire life. I hope parents can cooperate with teachers and work together to raise their children into adults.

These practices are very helpful for educating children, especially for educating children to develop good behavioral habits. If you can't do it yourself, you can't ask your children to do it. Therefore, keeping promises is also a very important virtue. I hope that you can think about your own educational methods and habits, and start the change with yourself. Only by teaching by words and deeds can children change.
