What is the diet for babies after weaning?

Generally, our babies will face weaning when they are about one year old. Some babies are weaned early and some are late, but weaning is a process that babies must go through. We all know that breast milk contains a lot of nutrients, so what is the baby’s diet after weaning? Let’s learn and understand it below.

After weaning at 11 months, the baby cannot digest a lot of food at one time. Eating only three meals a day cannot guarantee the nutrition needed for growth and development. In addition to milk, some snacks should be added. At this month, babies can deftly pick up food with their hands and put it into their mouths; snacks taste sweet and are easy to pinch, so most babies like to eat snacks; parents are even more delighted to see their babies' happy faces when eating snacks, and they buy all kinds of snacks for their babies to eat as much as they want. In fact, this approach is incorrect.

From a nutritional point of view, the main component of snacks is carbohydrates, just like porridge, rice and pasta. As long as the baby eats rice and pasta, there is no need to eat snacks. However, since snacks are delicious and babies love them, they can be given to babies as a kind of tonic to enhance their life interest. It is best to feed them while talking and training them with their mother.

First, dairy products are the first choice. Dairy products are considered the best substitute for breast milk during the weaning period. You can choose formula milk whose nutrient types, properties and proportions are closer to breast milk.

Second, rice and wheat flour products. Infant food is mainly rice flour and noodles, which are mostly developed by relevant institutions based on the growth and development characteristics of children, and are fortified with vitamins and trace elements.

Third, porridge can be made from a wide range of ingredients, such as grains, meat, fish, eggs, beans, vegetables, etc. However, the more reasonable the ratio of the main and supplementary foods, the better. Taking 60 grams of rice as an example, if it is paired with poultry, livestock meat, eggs or beans, the appropriate amount of the latter should be 25 grams, 30 grams, and 25 grams. The best water for making porridge is water from dark green and yellow-red vegetables that are rich in vitamin C, vitamin A and calcium.

Fourth, nutritious soup. During the weaning period, if you can often make a few delicious soups and rotate them for your baby to drink, it will help balance nutrition and improve disease resistance.

In addition, after babies start to grow teeth, snacks high in sugar often lead to tooth decay; cream, jam, and bean paste in sandwich snacks can sometimes cause bacteria to multiply, leading to diarrhea and digestive tract infections; eating a lot of snacks can affect appetite and is not conducive to the formation of good eating habits.

The above are our baby’s recipes after weaning. These recipes are nutritious baby food made according to the baby’s own needs. These foods are combined very reasonably and are very helpful to the baby's body. The diet is very important after the baby is weaned. Learning the above diet plays a very important role in the health and development of our baby.
