Why does a girl’s urine test show high white blood cell count?

When a child has a routine urine test, if the white blood cell count is found to be significantly high, further examination may be needed. First of all, the child's medical history should be considered. In addition, the child should be given a physical examination. If necessary, laboratory tests can be done, etc. As we all know, there are many reasons for high white blood cell counts, so these tests can help diagnose the condition. If a girl's urine test shows high white blood cell counts, the common reasons are as follows.

Why does a girl’s urine test show high white blood cell count?

If contamination from vaginal secretions is ruled out, and there are symptoms of frequent urination, urgency, pain, and incomplete urination, it is possible that there is a urinary tract infection. It is recommended to drink plenty of water and take some anti-inflammatory drugs, such as levofloxacin and cephalexin. Do not have sex during treatment, eat a light and easily digestible diet, do not eat spicy and irritating foods, and pay attention to the hygiene of the vulva.

It may be related to your physical condition. It may be caused by inflammation. For the sake of your health, you are advised to pay more attention to it during this period. You should pay attention to personal hygiene and avoid eating too much raw, cold and spicy food. When you are sick, you should wear pure cotton underwear with good breathability.

All other items are normal, only the white blood cell count is a little high, which may be inflammation.

However, urine routine examination requires midstream urine. If not, the result of white blood cell count will be high.

The hospital's urine routine test also contains urine bacterial count, combined with white blood cells. If both are high, inflammation can be diagnosed.

During the follow-up visit, a urine routine test can be done. If the result is abnormal, a urine culture can be done, but it is rarely done because most urinary tract infections are caused by those few bacteria. Conventional antibiotics can treat it.

If you are worried, you can also have an abdominal ultrasound to check if there are any problems with the kidneys and ureters.

The normal value of white blood cells is 4000-10000/ul. But 5% of people are not within this range and no corresponding diseases can be found. Therefore, simple mild leukocytopenia is very common in clinical practice. However, many blood system and other medical diseases are accompanied by leukopenia at the onset. If the father has only a slight decrease in white blood cell count for two consecutive years without other symptoms, continued testing and observation can be conducted.
