Three month old baby has scab on the top of his head

Three month old baby has scab on the top of his head

Babies are often prone to illness when they are young. Especially some common disease problems, because children’s immunity is very low, viruses and bacteria can easily invade. However, if the baby has scabs on his head, it may be due to head trauma in the past. Special treatment is required, and a three-month-old baby is very young, so what should you do if a three-month-old baby has a scab on the top of his head?

Methods/Steps

This is very important. You cannot pick off the scabs hard, even if it looks like they are not going to fall off. If you do, the baby's fragile skin will be damaged, and the baby's hair may even fall off. Not only will the baby feel pain, but he will also cry constantly.

The best way is to let nature take its course. The scabs will disappear on their own after the baby is half a year old. Although they look a bit unsightly, they can protect the baby's unclosed forehead from the stimulation of cold wind from the outside.

Wash your baby's hair regularly to prevent the scabs from being stained by dust and turning black and gray, as that would be bad for the baby. When washing, you can use a grease-removing baby shower gel and gently rub the baby's skin. Wash it every two or three days, and the scabs will not look like they are about to fall off.

If there are too many scabs on the baby's head, you can lubricate them with baby oil. After the scabs soften and are completely separated from the skin, use a cotton swab to gently pull them off. Be careful not to pull the baby's hair when pulling them off.

Shave your baby's head before scabs form on the top of his head. In fact, many places have the idea of shaving the baby's head when the baby is one month old. It is easier to deal with scabs on babies who have had their heads shaved, and the scabs are easier to fall off.

Use a hot towel to apply to the top of the baby's head several times. After the scabs soften, rinse the baby with clean water. Wash the baby two or three times a day. The scabs on the baby's head will appear to be much less. For babies with longer hair, the scabs will basically not be visible.
