The child keeps coughing

Cold symptoms are very common in our daily lives. No matter what age group people are in, as long as their physical fitness is relatively low, they are very likely to have cold symptoms. Children are in the period of growth and development, and their physical health is extremely important. If parents find that their children are coughing continuously, they must not take it lightly. They should find out the cause of the child's cough and then prescribe the right medicine.

Upper respiratory tract infection

Upper respiratory tract infection can be said to be one of the most common causes of children's cough. It is generally manifested by frequent itching of the throat but no phlegm. The coughing becomes more severe at night, and it is also accompanied by symptoms such as runny nose and fever.

Bronchitis

Many people confuse bronchitis with upper respiratory tract infection. In fact, bronchitis is caused by bacterial infection. When you cough, you will have phlegm, and the cough will be more severe at night. It should be noted that children with bronchitis must not eat overly sweet or salty foods to avoid aggravating the cough.

Allergy causes

In early spring, the temperature changes greatly, and children may experience symptoms of sneezing and coughing when encountering cold air; pollen can also cause children to cough because it affects their breathing, causes allergies, and causes constant coughing.

Now, we understand the reasons that cause children to cough, but parents still need to pay attention to some misunderstandings. Let’s take a look at them below.

Antibiotics are not a panacea

Many parents will give their children antibiotics as soon as their children show a little symptom, such as cephalosporin, penicillin, clarithromycin, etc. for anti-inflammatory treatment, but this is wrong. Although these drugs do have anti-inflammatory effects, they are only effective against antibiotic pathogens caused by bacteria and mycoplasma. They have basically no effect on inflammation. Therefore, if you are not sure of the condition, you should not give your child antibiotics casually.

Relax your mind, don't be anxious

When children are sick, as parents we will be very anxious, but as a parent you need to know that cough is not a disease that can be cured immediately with treatment. Generally speaking, it takes about a week to recover.
