How to treat bedwetting in children? These methods solve the problem

Bedwetting in children must be a problem that troubles many parents. After the age of 3, many children will wet the bed unconsciously. Parents should correct their children in time and train their urination habits in time. They must not drink too much water before going to bed.

1. Timely examination and treatment

For children who repeatedly wet the bed, parents should take their children to the hospital in time for a full-body and perineal examination to rule out physical illnesses such as urinary tract infection, parasitic infection, and incomplete brain development. Only after the cause is identified can the primary disease be treated symptomatically to correct nocturnal enuresis. In clinical practice, drugs, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine and other methods are also used to treat bedwetting in children.

2. Correct bad living habits

The main method to correct a child's bedwetting is to cultivate a good living system for him and eliminate the psychological factors of tension and anxiety. Avoid excessive fatigue during the day; do not be overly excited before going to bed; take a nap during the day to avoid sleeping too deeply at night; eat less liquid food after 4 pm and do not drink water 2 hours before going to bed to reduce the amount of urine stored in the bladder.

3. Perform urination training

Establish a habit for your child to urinate before going to bed. Children with enuresis usually wet the bed at a fixed time at night. After knowing the time of their children's enuresis, parents can use an alarm clock to wake up the children half an hour in advance every day to urinate. After a period of training, a conditioned reflex will be established, and the children will be awakened by the stimulation of a full bladder at night and control their urination on their own.

4. Train bladder function

If your child frequently runs to the bathroom during the day, he or she may need exercises to stretch the bladder muscles. Let your child drink plenty of fluids during the day, then extend the interval between urinations, try to hold urine for 3-5 minutes, to increase urine volume, train children to hold urine appropriately, and improve bladder control. When children urinate, encourage them to urinate intermittently and then urinate completely to improve the control of the bladder sphincter.

5. Bedwetting alarm

There are also various brands of baby bedwetting alarms on the market. The principle of this therapy is to let the child sleep on a cotton pad equipped with a "baby bed-wetting alarm"; when the child wets the bed, just the first few drops of urine can connect the alarm circuit, making a sound, waking the child up to urinate; in this way, over time, the child will awaken in response to a full bladder and actively ask to urinate.
