Slow brain development in children

Slow brain development in children

Many children will have slow brain development when they are young, and slow brain development is very serious for children, because it affects the intellectual development of children, so they will develop later than children of the same age, and they will find that they lose at the starting line when they go to school. Therefore, when children are young, they should be given some food to supplement a lot of nutrition in time. So what should we do if children have slow brain development?

Factors that affect slow brain development include:

1. Genetic factors: The characteristics, constitution, potential, and limits of a child’s growth and development are all restricted by the genetic factors of their parents. The genetic information of race and family has a profound impact on the next generation, such as skin, hair color, facial features, etc.; genetic diseases, whether chromosomal abnormalities or metabolic defects, have a significant impact on growth and development.

2. Endocrine growth hormone: Human growth is mainly regulated by various hormones, especially growth hormone and sex hormone. When growth hormone is deficient, symptoms of short stature will appear; sex hormones can cause bones to fuse earlier, affecting growth and development, so adolescents who enter puberty early will affect their final height growth.

3. Gender: The growth and development of boys and girls are different. Generally speaking, the average height and weight of girls are lower than those of boys. Girls' puberty starts about two years earlier than boys'. During this period, girls' growth and development are faster, but boys' puberty lasts longer than boys', so boys will eventually be taller than girls. Therefore, when analyzing growth and development, boys and girls should be studied separately.

1. There are many causes of brain retardation. In fact, kernicterus is a very common cause of brain retardation. It is an important factor in brain retardation and inability to sit. But now, due to the progress of perinatal medicine, the proportion of cerebral palsy caused by kernicterus has decreased.

2. The causes of brain retardation include cerebral hypoxia and ischemia: Therefore, anything that can cause blood circulation and gas exchange disorders between the mother and the fetus, or cause neonatal arterial hypotension and venous congestion, may cause cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, resulting in brain damage and leaving cerebral palsy.

3. The causes of delayed brain development include low birth weight babies: premature babies and full-term small babies. These infants all had varying degrees of intrauterine growth retardation. It also affects the development of the central nervous system, and is often complicated by subependymal hemorrhage and intraventricular hemorrhage. The latter can easily cause spastic bilateral paralysis and lead to brain retardation and inability to sit.
