Is it good for children to take a bath frequently?

The bathing environment in many places is not very good, and some of the environments are really terrible. In winter, because the weather is very dry, taking a shower every day will cause certain damage to our skin. The outermost layer of our skin, the stratum corneum, which falls off automatically, contains little dirt mixed with skin sweat. Washing off this layer every day will have a certain protective effect on the skin. So is it good for children to take a bath frequently?

If you bathe too frequently, the stratum corneum will be damaged and its function of protecting the skin will be lost. The moisture in the skin cells will evaporate more easily and the skin will become dry. According to traditional Chinese medicine, "dryness creates wind, and wind causes itching." "Wind" here refers to a cause of disease that wanders around in the body, causing itchy skin. Therefore, it is more appropriate to take a bath 2-3 times a week in winter. If it is difficult for some people to change the habit of taking a bath every day, they should pay special attention to the bathing method.

When bathing your baby, pay attention to keeping him warm and safe. It is best to bathe with clean water, and each bath should not exceed 10 minutes. Babies' skin is different from adults'. Their skin is thinner and more delicate. Bathing them every day can indeed keep them clean, but it may also cause dry skin. Especially for children with dry skin, soaking in water every day may cause the skin to become dehydrated, drier, and even peeling. If you bathe your child for too long, the outermost stratum corneum of the skin will absorb water and become soft, reducing the skin's resistance.

In addition, you don’t have to use shower gel every time you bathe your child. Just wash with clean water. There is a layer of oil on the outside of children's skin, which plays an important role in keeping the skin moisturized, reducing external irritation and keeping warm. Many shower gels are alkaline, which will destroy this layer of oil and easily make the skin dry and rough. Repeatedly rubbing the body with shower gel may cause sensitive skin in severe cases.

Therefore, if the child is not very dirty, there is no need to bathe him every day. Instead, he can do it every one or two days depending on the actual situation. Shower gel can also be used once a week. If you need to take a shower every day when the weather is hot, just rinsing with clean water will be enough. Only by persisting in this way can the child's health get better and better.
