Why does my child’s head always sweat when sleeping?

Many people have experienced sweating on their heads while sleeping. This is usually called spontaneous sweating, which makes people feel very uncomfortable. If you are an adult, you will find that your physical condition is still relatively weak at this time. If a child sweats on his head while sleeping, you must first adjust the child’s sleeping environment, including the temperature and humidity. In addition, you must be alert to some health problems in your child. The common causes are as follows.

Why does my child’s head always sweat when sleeping?

Some parents find that their children sweat a lot after falling asleep. Do you know why this happens? How to improve this situation of children?

When we say excessive sweating in children, there is a certain degree, which means normal sweating. Sweating is not only related to physical constitution, but also to temperature and clothing. When the temperature is too high, or when clothes are not breathable or too many, you will sweat, and this kind of sweating is normal.

In the summer, you may sweat even if you just sit still at home. Therefore, it is not excessive for children to sweat slightly when they are inactive and their clothes to get wet when they are active. Of course, it also depends on the temperature changes. But it’s not like a child being fished out of water. This level of sweating is excessive. In winter, if children are dressed appropriately, they will always need to exercise for a while before they start to sweat. The length of this time is related to the intensity of the activity, but it is not advisable for them to sweat profusely.

There is another type of sweating that is normal. That is, if children sweat slightly on their head and back in the first two hours after falling asleep, it can also be considered normal. This is because when people sleep at night, the Yang Qi enters the Yin part to rest, so when it first enters, it can still evaporate the Yin fluid. Because children have delicate skin and loose pores, they will sweat for a short period of time after falling asleep.

What kind of sweating is abnormal? Abnormal sweating is usually night sweats or spontaneous sweating.

1) Night sweats, that is, sweating after falling asleep at night. The general symptom is sweating after falling asleep. Mild cases can cause sweating around 5 am. The duration and amount of sweating are proportional to the severity of the disease. An obvious and even characteristic feature of night sweats is that the sweating stops after waking up. No matter how much you sweat and how many clothes and bedding are soaked, the sweating will stop as long as you open your eyes. This is because when the eyes are open, Yang energy comes out from the Yin part, which can reduce evaporation and retain sweat. In traditional Chinese medicine, night sweats are generally considered to be caused by yin deficiency or qi and yin deficiency, so pediatric massage methods are usually used to nourish yin and replenish qi. Generally, there will be obvious results within a week. If Yin deficiency persists for a long time, it will form a Yin deficiency constitution. Symptoms include weight loss, dry mouth and throat, flushed cheeks, hot hands and feet, hot flashes and night sweats, irritability, dry mouth, dry and red tongue with little or no coating, or even smooth and no coating. Yin deficiency of the five internal organs can be seen clinically. In addition to the above-mentioned clinical manifestations, corresponding lesions of each organ are also seen, resulting in different symptoms. Tendency to disease: prone to fatigue, loss of semen, insomnia, etc., can tolerate winter but not summer, and cannot tolerate heat, heat, and dryness. The most important thing is that Yin deficiency constitution may even change the child's temperament, because children with Yin deficiency are irritable and often do not have the patience to sit down, read, or persist in doing one thing, so it is difficult for them to develop good habits. This change in temperament is the greatest harm to children. Therefore, we have always emphasized that parents should pay attention to their children's Yin deficiency constitution, but many parents have not yet realized the seriousness of the problem.

2) Spontaneous sweating, sweating easily. Spontaneous sweating is caused by Qi deficiency which is unable to retain sweat, resulting in sweating when one is active. So some mothers would describe that as soon as their children move, beads of sweat start to roll down, and even the entire head looks like it has been bathed. These are all manifestations of spontaneous sweating. Spontaneous sweating is caused by qi deficiency, so the massage method focuses on strengthening the spleen and replenishing qi.
