What to eat for children with Tourette syndrome

Tourette syndrome is a relatively common disease among children aged 3 to 15 years old. It is also a disease related to the nervous system. If a child suffers from this type of tic, he or she undoubtedly needs timely treatment. In the case of tic disorders, not only the physical health of the child is affected, but also the mental and physical health. So, what should children with tics pay attention to in their diet and what should they eat?

Foods that nourish the brain:

When you are sick, you should eat more foods that are good for brain development, such as fish, preferably steamed fish, which can reduce the destruction of its original nutrients. You can also eat some animal brains and spinal cords. Regular consumption can enhance immunity and memory.

Foods that can relieve anxiety:

Eat some foods that can make people energetic, such as strawberries, lemons, etc., to improve the ability to receive information; also eat some foods that can eliminate tension and anxiety, and insist on eating half an onion every day. At the same time, foods such as red dates, lotus seeds, lilies, and bananas have the effect of relieving stress and should be eaten in moderation. They also have a certain effect on relieving the anxiety and irritability caused by Tourette syndrome.

Foods that improve sleep:

In order to be more conducive to treatment, people with tics should not stay up late and should ensure adequate sleep. Studies have found that grapes contain a substance that can help people sleep better. This substance is called melatonin, which is secreted by the pineal gland in the brain.

Food therapy only plays an auxiliary and recovery-promoting role in the treatment of tics, and cannot achieve the fundamental therapeutic purpose. However, some parents do not need to blindly buy products on the market. This will not only fail to promote treatment, but will harm their children.
