One month old baby sleeps less

One month old baby sleeps less

A one-month-old baby should be a newborn, and a newborn should be in a state of sleeping every day. Because he should be in a sleeping state every day in the mother's womb. Although he is born, his living habits cannot be changed for the time being. However, some babies sleep less, especially during the day. Sometimes I wake up after less than two hours of sleep during the day. What is the reason why a one-month-old baby sleeps less?

1. Reasons why newborns don’t sleep well

Newborn sleep is very important for babies who have just been born, so mothers will feel particularly worried about their babies' restless sleep. So what are the reasons for newborns' restless sleep?

(1) Sometimes babies eat too much, causing abdominal discomfort; or they don’t eat enough and feel hungry, which can cause them to cry and not sleep.

(2) If the diaper is wet and not changed in time, or the clothes are too tight or the quilt is too thick, making the baby feel uncomfortable, he will also express his "protest" by crying and refusing to sleep.

(3) Check whether the baby has been bitten by mosquitoes or has eczema, as this will cause the skin to itch unbearably, especially at night when the baby is quiet. Babies cannot express themselves and can only attract their parents' attention by crying and refusing to sleep.

(4) Check your baby’s trace elements. Calcium deficiency may also cause such symptoms. Or this situation may occur if the baby is frightened.

2. How to let newborns sleep well

1. Sucking - whether it is the breast, bottle, baby's own fingers or pacifier, sucking always has a soothing effect? Keep him close - use a stroller or carrier to let the baby snuggle with you;

2. Massage - Various pats and massages can help calm a baby, but don't massage his tummy before he's four weeks old, avoid the spine and avoid using nut oils such as almond oil;

3. Music – Rhythmic sounds or music can help soothe a newborn, and even the hum of a washing machine or vacuum cleaner can help calm the baby.

4. Exercise - rocking the baby in the arms or cradle, or pushing him in a stroller;

5. Fresh air - take the baby out for a walk, because even if the crying does not stop, it will not look so bad outdoors;

6. Gas - Some babies feel better after burping, so try to sit the baby upright on your shoulder and pat his back;

7. Bath - A warm bath can immediately calm some babies, but be aware that this may have the opposite effect;

8. Take your baby to a quieter room and comfort him with gentle hugs and soft singing.
