Why do newborns lose their hair?

Why do newborns lose their hair?

It is very common for newborns to have sparse hair and continuous hair loss. In fact, the hair loss in newborns is actually caused by some inducements. Normally, healthy newborns will not experience significant hair loss. Therefore, it is necessary to find the cause and treat the hair loss in newborns. So, what is the reason for the hair loss in newborns?

1. Milk alopecia: The ends of the baby's hair turn yellow and the hair falls out. This is a normal metabolism. After the yellow hair falls out, the hair will gradually stabilize. This condition is commonly known as milk alopecia. Mothers don't need to worry too much.

2. Alopecia areata. Babies spend most of their time lying in bed, and the contact between their heads and pillows causes sweating and itching on their heads. Newborns cannot scratch with their hands or express themselves with words, so they can only shake their heads to deal with the itching problem. After frequent friction, the hair on the pillow will be worn off. Now most babies have the problem of baldness on the pillow.

3. Calcium deficiency. Some babies will suffer from calcium deficiency due to rapid growth or insufficient nutrition, which will cause thinning hair, hair loss, or no hair. Mothers will worry about this. It is recommended to go to the hospital to see a doctor and supplement calcium under the correct guidance of the doctor.

4. Zinc deficiency will cause sparse hair and slow the baby's growth, especially hair growth. Once you find that your baby is zinc deficient, you must supplement it in time. In addition, you can cut your baby's hair short and apply ginger on it. The hair that grows back will be black and thick. Mothers can try it.

5. Lack of protein. Protein has the function of maintaining normal human activities. From this point, we can see the important role of protein. For babies, due to rapid physical development, they have a higher demand for protein. If the baby lacks protein in the body, clinical symptoms such as dry and yellow hair, and swelling of feet, legs and other parts will appear. Therefore, mothers can let their babies eat more beans, animal liver, meat, eggs and other foods.

As mentioned above, the five major factors of milk baldness, zinc deficiency, calcium deficiency, occipital baldness and protein deficiency are the main causes of hair loss in newborns. Therefore, when a newborn baby has hair loss at home, parents must pay attention to find out the causes of the hair loss in the newborn so as to alleviate the hair loss in the newborn as soon as possible.
