Grandma's words almost cost the baby's life

Grandma's words almost cost the baby's life

According to media reports: On the second floor of the outpatient department of Nanjing Children's Hospital, 3-year-old left-behind child Ruirui kept crying. His grandmother was also in tears, feeling sorry for her grandson but helpless. Because the child mistook the antidiarrhea medicine for candy and accidentally ate 96 tablets, his nerves were severely damaged. Not only did he become blind, but his legs were also nearly paralyzed. Even more unfortunate is that when the child was just one month old, his parents divorced, the mother disappeared without a trace, and the child's father was working away from home.

Such incidents happen a lot in life! ! ! The following example:

A grandmother was taking anti-diarrhea medicine because of stomach discomfort. Her 3-year-old grandson saw her and asked her curiously what she was taking! Grandma teased her grandson and said, these are candy beans.

After taking the medicine, the old man did not put it away but just put it on the table and went to sleep! After waking up, he found that his grandson's face was blue. He lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, the doctors saved his life, but his legs were paralyzed, his mouth was crooked, and he was blind. After the incident, we found out that the child had taken 60 anti-diarrhea pills! ! ! This result shocked everyone. Why did the child take so many antidiarrheal drugs? It turned out that the grandmother teased the child with a sentence, and the tragedy happened.

40% of children have taken medicine secretly

According to data collected by the China Pharmaceutical Packaging Association in 2011, it is roughly estimated that about 30,000 to 50,000 children (under the age of 15) in my country seek medical treatment due to drug poisoning each year, about 2,000 to 3,000 children die from drug poisoning, and about 3,000 to 4,000 children suffer sequelae or disabilities due to drug poisoning. The cost of treating these children exceeds 200 million yuan each year.

Other data show that among cases of acute poisoning in children, drug poisoning accounts for 28.83%, with the highest proportion of accidental ingestion among children aged 1 to 6 years old. The more common drugs that are accidentally ingested are anti-epileptic drugs, antihypertensive drugs, antipyretics, etc.
