Red rash on child

Red rash on child

Skin rashes can make people feel very scared, because they are itchy, painful and extremely uncomfortable. The most important thing is that they will feel scared all over their body, and it may even spread to other parts of the body, especially in children. Because children have poor self-control, they will scratch their skin excessively, which may eventually lead to local infection and damage. When a red rash appears on a child's body, how should it be judged and treated?

1. Roseola infantum

Roseola infantum is a common exanthematous disease in infants and young children. It is mostly an infectious disease caused by viral infection. The incubation period is 8 to 14 days. It is more common in infants under one year old and usually occurs in winter and spring. Its characteristics are: sudden onset of high fever (39-40℃), which lasts for 3-5 days before subsiding, and the appearance of a rose-colored maculopapular rash surrounded by a red halo, similar to rubella, measles or scarlet fever.

2. Rubella

Rubella is an acute infectious disease caused by rubella virus, common in children, and transmitted through respiratory droplets. The disease often occurs in winter and spring and can spread in groups. The general incubation period is 10

~21 days. The clinical symptoms of rubella are very similar to those of measles, but milder than measles, and include cough, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, loss of appetite, and often enlarged lymph nodes behind the ears and behind the occipital bone. The body temperature is generally not too high, and is mostly low fever or moderate fever.

3. Chickenpox

Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by primary infection with the varicella-zoster virus. It mainly occurs in infants and young children, and is characterized by fever and the appearance of large numbers of systemic red maculopapular rashes, blisters, and scabs. The initial infection is chickenpox, and subsequent infection may result in shingles. It is more common in all age groups after 6 months. The disease is more common in winter and spring. The incubation period is 1 to 2 days.

Measles

Measles is a common acute respiratory infectious disease in infants and young children and is highly contagious. The main symptoms include fever, upper respiratory tract inflammation, conjunctivitis, etc. It is characterized by the appearance of red maculopapular rashes on the skin and measles mucosal patches on the cheek mucosa. It is mainly transmitted through respiratory droplets from children with measles, or through a third party as a medium, with the highest incidence in late spring. The incubation period is 6 to 18 days.

5. Papular rash

Papular rash is also called "sand rash". This disease mainly occurs in summer and is more common in infants and young children. Because the weather is hot, children sweat, which can easily lead to skin inflammation and rash. It often occurs on children's wrists and backs of hands, and sometimes also on their forearms, thighs, and buttocks.

6. Hand, foot and mouth disease

Hand, foot and mouth disease can occur throughout the year, often occurring from March to November, with a peak period from June to August. The disease spreads extremely quickly and over a wide range. The age of onset can range from 4-month-old babies to 30-year-old adults, but the highest incidence rate is in infants under 3 years old.

Most of the types of rashes that bother babies are due to poor organ function, decreased immune function and endotoxin clearance disorders. When the baby has a fever, you can drink more water, take antiviral drugs including heat-clearing and detoxifying drugs, adjust the baby's diet, and protect the spleen and stomach. If the symptoms are obvious and accompanied by fever, you must not be careless. You must pay great attention to it and take your baby to the hospital for treatment in time.
