Is it okay for babies to drink rock sugar water?

Parents all know that giving sugar to babies is bad, but it cannot be completely eliminated, so many parents will give their children rock sugar water, but is it good for babies to drink rock sugar water? If the newborn is fully breastfed, he does not need to drink milk or sugar water. But if the child is fed with milk powder, he can drink some water appropriately, rock sugar water is also OK, so as to prevent the baby from getting inflamed.

It is not harmful to the health of newborns if they drink some sugar water appropriately, but we should not use sugar water as the staple food for babies, as this can easily cause diabetes. I hope mothers will support breastfeeding during the lactation period, which is the safest for babies.

The first food should be breast milk. For the arrival of a new life, eating is the top priority, and many parents have made all kinds of preparations. Many pregnant women who come to the hospital have glucose powder or milk powder in their delivery bags. A newborn’s first food should never be glucose water, ordinary water or milk powder, but breast milk.

Don't always give your baby sugary drinks, as this will develop a habit of eating sweets. Too much sugar water will stimulate the baby's taste buds, and he will not be allowed to eat anything that is not sweet in the future. This is not good for his health and tooth development. If your baby is breastfed, you don't need to worry, because 80% of breast milk is water, so there is no need for additional water. If your baby is fed with milk powder, you must develop the habit of drinking water now, otherwise he will get a sore throat. You can cultivate the habit of drinking water little by little. Even if you drink very little at the beginning, do not add sugar.

It is best not to give your baby sugar water, and newborns should not be fed overly sweetened water. Feeding newborns with high-concentration sugar water can speed up intestinal peristalsis or produce an inhibitory effect. If this is not possible, you can adjust the sugar water concentration to a level that is neither sweet nor too sweet for an adult. It is best to drink boiled water. Beverages contain a lot of sugar and electrolytes, which will stay in your body for a long time and cause adverse stimulation to your stomach.

Do not feed water to babies before meals. Drinking too much water can dilute the gastric juice, which is not conducive to food digestion and will also affect appetite. You can drink a small amount of water half an hour before meals to increase the secretion of saliva in the mouth and help digestion of food. Do not feed water to babies before going to bed. Babies cannot fully control their urination on their own. Drinking too much water can easily cause nocturnal enuresis and affect their sleep.

Nowadays, there are very few female friends who are breastfeeding in life, but we hope that if mothers have breast milk, it is best to feed breast milk, not feed milk powder, because the nutritional value of milk powder is not as high as our breast milk, and milk powder can easily cause some baby diseases. However, you can add some sugar water for the baby to drink.
