Newborn baby rolling his eyes

Newborn baby rolling his eyes

A newborn baby will show many symptoms after entering the world. Some of them are normal while some are abnormal and pathological. For example, some newborns may move their eyes around. This is mostly normal, as it is because the newborn's curiosity is focused on observing the outside world. Sometimes it may be caused by pathological reasons. Below we will explain in detail why a newborn's eyes move around.

It is normal for a newborn's eyes to move around, which is a manifestation of the newborn's curiosity about the new world.

Newborn eye protection measures:

1. Pay attention to eye hygiene

Pay attention to your baby's eye hygiene to prevent infectious diseases. Your baby should have his or her own washbasin and towel, and should wash his or her eyes first every time he or she washes his or her face. After washing, the baby's towel should be placed in the sun to dry. Do not use other people's towels or handkerchiefs to wipe the baby's eyes. Your baby's hands should also be kept clean at all times. When there is secretion in the eyes, the mother can wipe the baby's eyes with a sterilized cotton swab.

2. Avoid contact with the monitor

It is best not to let your baby watch TV. When the TV is on, the cathode ray tube will emit a certain amount of X-rays, especially color TV. Babies are particularly sensitive to X-rays. If an adult holds a baby while watching TV, the baby will absorb too much X-rays. In severe cases, the baby will experience fatigue, loss of appetite, malnutrition, leukopenia, developmental delay and other phenomena.

3. Correct feeding posture

It is best not to lie down for a long time or feed in the same posture when breastfeeding, because if you feed in a fixed position for a long time, the baby will often peek at the fixed light, which can easily cause strabismus. Therefore, mothers can change positions frequently when breastfeeding to allow the baby to exercise his eyes.

4. Reduce noise

Noise can reduce the baby's sensitivity to light brightness and reduce the stability of visual clarity. Therefore, pay attention to the quietness of the environment in the baby's room, do not place high-noise household appliances, and do not turn up the volume too loud when watching TV or listening to music.

5. Color training

Show your baby more toys with bright colors such as yellow and red, and change the colors frequently. Going out to see the scenery of nature more often can also help improve your baby's eyesight. In addition, when using toys to amuse your baby, do not place the toys too close to the eyes, otherwise it will affect the baby's vision development.
