Symptoms of cerebral hypoxia in children

Symptoms of cerebral hypoxia in children

Everyone must be familiar with the term cerebral hypoxia. Brain hypoxia is basically caused by poor air circulation, late lifestyle, improper ventilation equipment, etc. Cerebral hypoxia does not only occur in adults, children also often suffer from cerebral hypoxia. It is also common for children to suffer from hypoxia. Parents must have enough, and parents must pay enough attention to this, because children's brain hypoxia can lead to symptoms of cerebral palsy in children. Usually, you should strengthen outdoor aerobic exercise and eat more milk, soybeans, chestnuts and other brain tonics.

Question 1:

Neonatal cerebral hypoxia refers to hypoxic-ischemic damage to the brain caused by perinatal asphyxia. Clinically, a series of encephalopathy manifestations generally occur. Neonatal cerebral hypoxia not only seriously threatens the life of the newborn, but also is a cerebrovascular disease with a very high disability rate. Most children may have sequelae of varying degrees after the disease.

The early manifestations of cerebral hypoxia in babies are: the baby will be in a state of hyperarousal, irritable, excited and highly agitated (shaking, tremor), with normal muscle tone, active hugging reflex, normal sucking reflex, steady breathing and no convulsions. If it is mild neonatal cerebral hypoxia, its symptoms will mostly disappear gradually within 3 days and will not affect the baby's health.

What to do if your child has brain hypoxia:

1. General treatment: keep quiet, breathe oxygen, keep warm, keep the airway open, correct acidosis, hypoglycemia, hypocalcemia, etc. Pay close attention to observe the child's body temperature, breathing, consciousness, pupil size, anterior fontanelle, and whether there is early convulsions. If necessary, monitor the heart and lungs, blood pressure, intracranial pressure and EEG.

2. Actively prevent and treat cerebral edema. If neonatal convulsions occur, anticonvulsant treatment should be given. In principle, choose one drug with sufficient dosage, or use two drugs alternately. Monitor the blood concentration of the drug frequently during medication, and observe closely after medication, when the convulsions stop, the patient falls asleep quietly, the breathing and heart rhythm are stable, and the palms and fingers are bent with a certain tension.

3. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy: Hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy can achieve good results for patients with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Hyperbaric oxygen can increase the blood oxygen content and partial oxygen pressure of children, accelerate the clearance of lesions, and achieve the purpose of protecting the structure of the nervous system. Through oxygen therapy, brain cells can obtain adequate oxygen supply, thereby accelerating the recovery of brain function.

4. Promote brain cell metabolism: This therapy requires the use of corresponding drugs, and regular treatment can be received under the diagnosis of a doctor.

The problem of brain hypoxia in babies can be serious or minor. Parents must pay enough attention to it. When the baby has brain hypoxia, measures should be taken immediately, because once the brain hypoxia becomes serious, it will affect the baby's brain development. Parents should give their babies more care and love in life, and carefully nurture their babies' healthy growth.
