How to detect the intelligence of newborns

How to detect the intelligence of newborns

For newborns, parents are most concerned about health issues first and the baby's intellectual development second. As the child develops well, his or her intelligence level will be reflected in some behaviors. For example, children with better intellectual development tend to laugh more, sleep better, like to play with their hands, etc. Let us learn more about this aspect below.

Babies who love to laugh have good intelligence

In fact, babies can smile unconsciously more than a month after birth, but truly emotional laughter will not occur until the baby is three months old. If your baby loves to laugh, it means that he feels full of love and security, and his personality will become cheerful. Even if your baby is still in the period of being afraid of strangers, a baby who loves to laugh means that he is smarter!

Babies whose eyes “follow people” have good intelligence

4 to 6 weeks after birth, the baby can use his eyes to follow moving objects and turn 90 degrees horizontally; at 12 weeks, he will turn his head towards his mother when he hears her voice; at 12 to 16 weeks, when he sees his mother holding a bottle to feed him, he will open his mouth and wait. If a child still cannot "follow people" with his eyes by 6 months old, he may have abnormal intellectual development.

Is your baby's sleep time normal?

As your baby grows older, the amount of time he or she spends sleeping will gradually decrease, and the amount of time he or she spends awake will gradually increase. If your baby sleeps too long, or is drowsy day and night, his intelligence may not be optimistic.

Is the baby's motor development normal?

After 6 months of age, babies mostly "explore" their own bodies. Babies with normal intellectual development will be able to play with their hands between 6 and 12 months. At this stage, babies can bend down to pick up objects that are far away from them, and can pass objects between their hands; they can also pick up food and chew it by themselves. If your baby can do these actions, it means there is no problem with intelligence!

The baby will be afraid of giving birth

After 6 months, babies begin to show shyness, being afraid of strangers, avoiding them, and even crying, often crying for their mothers. But when they see familiar relatives or parents, they will open their arms, indicating that the baby wants to be cared for.
